potential new home field?

didnt say he hates miami...he didnt want more than 25k seats in the stadium. we need at least 45-55 to make it work

The Melreese location is so close to MIA flight paths, he could not make the stadium tall enough to hold 45-55K.

But both brothers were willing to take the time to pursue the option. It was just impossible.

I don't love the parking. But that's true at any stadium. It's accessible, the cover is great, the sight lines are good, the tawlets work, and it's natually loud.
We use that maroon lot so it’s never bad but yeah Ross really maxed the structures outside and took alot of needed parking. Surprised he hasn’t just build one very large garage closer to university

Again we will never move out of the phins stadium until one of two things happens.

1. The phins move and build a new joint use stadium

2. The program drops to FCS

UM will never have their own football stadium again, it doesn’t make sense.
Or the marlins move to another city and……..
It ain’t fckng happening !!!!

I would say there is no way the city is gonna help us fund that, but **** they’re blowing a billion on some McDonalds *** arches, who knows.
Government wastes money on stupid meaningless things
like arches, the marlins, grievance studies etc….

Reviving the OB?
West end zone part 2?

Thats a way to make money. Not waste it.

I can understand why people keep bringing up the stadium issue…..

We were outnumbered by a ******* team from the Midwest when we HOSTED a national title game. That’s beyond embarrassing and there is nothing anyone can say that will change my mind.

So ya, people want a stadium that we can actually sell out consistently with die hard fans. I don’t blame them. But I agree that 20-25k is obviously not enough.

Unfortunately; I don’t see a solution to this problem. Just have to keep playing at Hard Rock.

lol no.

For the 10000th time, the issue isn't stadium location. There just aren't that many hardcore fans who want to go to the non "big" games. You get a sense of this at the big games. I haven't been in years since I moved out of Miami but for the big games, especillay night games I'd always be surrounded by people who didn't know the game, didn't know the players, didn't know anything. They were there because it was an event. These people aren't coming to a 2:30pm game vs. Wake when it's 88 degress with a 60% chance of rain.

But even with that we'll draw 40k at least. They're not moving to a baby soccer stadium.
I think 2024 will mark the first year people actually started tuning in on a regular. I know majority of this board did but bro alot of people didn’t sit thru all of the years that we stunk lol

We back to building up our base again, i think this year we might see an up in attendance

Don’t you guys know? John Ruiz is building us a stadium with his own money and giving it to UM for free. There’s already photos of digital models for the new stadium online.

Remember when people here actually believed that? Outside of a natural disaster leveling Hard Rock Stadium, the only way UM leaves would be if the Marlins left and the city desperately needed someone to play in that multi-billion dollar waste of tax payer money that’s empty 99% of the time.

what happened to him lol

I'm convinced people who want a different stadium location have never traveled past the Golden Glades after 1pm.
If we played anywhere south, you should leave now for a September game.
You see what it's like at the Rock on Thursday or Friday...
this.

I still don't understand what happened there. Miami had their allocated seats in the corner but how did those seats on the other half of the stadium go on sale and how did Indiana fans snatch them up?

I find it very hard to believe that many Indiana fans paid $4000 a ticket. Somehow they got access to them earlier. I knew a TON of Miami fans that wanted to go and just couldn't get tickets because of availability and price.

I also think they need to investigate the pricing in the secondary market for that game. Something was definitely up.

I personally think 20K is way too many. We should play our games with zero fans. Just put a bubble on Greentree, IMO. I was at the ND game in 2017 and my ears are still ringing. It's incredibly dangerous.

Maybe the openers like the Bethune and FAMU games could be held there. But HRS is our home for awhile.
