With Eidsness directing the offense, the Jackrabbits have posted prolific numbers in both the running and passing games en route to six consecutive playoff berths (2012-17). SDSU has consistently re-written the record book under Eidsness’ watch, including establishing 28 new single-game, season and career marks during the 2016 campaign and 15 more in 2017. Among the team records set in 2017 were scoring (521 points), total offense (6,141 yards) and total offense per game (438.6), the last of which had stood for 66 years (437.7 yards per game in 1951).

Greg Chimera - OC John Hopkins University

In his 10th season as a member of head coach Jim Margraff’s staff and fifth as offensive coordinator is Greg Chimera, a 2009 Johns Hopkins graduate and a four-year member of the Blue Jay football team during his time at Homewood.

Chimera’s grooming for the offensive coordinator position came during a five-year period that is part of the most successful era in school history. Since joining the staff, he has helped guide Johns Hopkins to nine Centennial Conference titles, eight trips to the NCAA Playoffs and a 90-15 record, while more than 100 team and individual records have fallen since he joined the staff in 2009.

The Blue Jay offense is coming off another highly-productive season as Johns Hopkins averaged 39.5 points and 505.7 yards per game in 2017. The Blue Jays produced the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year and scored at least 28 points in 10 of 11 games.

The 2016 team set school records for total offense (6,121), yards per game (510.1), passing yards (4,106) and touchdown passes (37). In addition, eight offensive players earned All-Centennial Conference honors, including four who grabbed first team accolades.

In his first season as the offensive coordinator in 2014, Johns Hopkins averaged 37.2 points and 434.4 yards per game and scored at least 27 points in 10 of 12 games and 21 or more in all 12 games. Making these numbers even more impressive was the fact that Chimera had a first-year starting quarterback and four new starters on the offensive line to develop. His unit topped even those lofty numbers in 2015 as the Blue Jays set school records for points (45.7) and yards (505.8) per game while producing the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Jeff Whitehead - OC Hardin Simmons

Whitehead is in his eighth season as the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys. He is in charge of the Cowboys’ quarterbacks and running backs.

His offense is routinely one of the top offenses in the nation. Last year the Cowboys averaged 42.2 points and 492.8 points per game. Running back Jaquan Hemphill was named the ASC player of the year.

In 2016, the Cowboys averaged 46.2 points and 485.5 yards per game. Jaquan Hemphill was a first-team all-ASC selection at running back.

His offense was one of the top in the nation in 2015 averaging 455 yards and 43.5 points per game. Jessie Ramos was ASC offensive player of the year and he became the second straight ASC offensive player of the year for the Cowboys.

In 2014, Kerry Sloan was named the ASC Offensive player of the year. The Cowboys averaged 404 yards and 33.2 points per game.

In 2013, HSU averaged 460 yards and 42.2 points per contest. Running back Tevin Mitchell was named first-team all-ASC an all-region. He rushed for 1,536 yards and 19 touchdowns. The yardage total was the second-most in school history. Jessie Ramos, Colton Brewer and Ty Fisher all earned all-ASC honors.

In 2012, the Cowboys had the top statistical offense in school history, averaging 558 yards and almost 48 points per contest. HSU was second in the nation in offense, first in passing offense and fourth in scoring offense.

Quarterback Logan Turner earned all-America honors after throwing for 4,116 yards and 43 touchdowns in 10 games. He threw for an ASC record 685 yards and eight touchdowns in a win over Sul Ross State. He had five games over 400 yards last season. He was also named first-team all-ASC.

HSU combined with Sul Ross State to set the record for most yards ever in a NCAA football game with 1714. HSU had an NCAA Division III record 914 of those yards. The game featured 44 NCAA, Division III, American Southwest Conference and Hardin-Simmons records.

In his first season, he led an offense that put together a successful campaign that saw the Cowboys average over 35 points and 442 yards per game.

He called an offense that led to two of the three best receiving days in HSU history. Travis Tatsch had 266 yards against Coe and Corey Jones had 240 yards against Mississippi College.

Jones had a school record five-touchdown game against Texas Lutheran.

Another area of responsibility for Whitehead is academics and the Cowboys had the most players in the ASC named to the academic all-conference team again last season.

Really? When did UM turn into Last Chance U for coaches trying to get a P5 job? Or is that UMs niche now? **** shame. The Wal-Mart of P5 CFB.

Yeahhhhh, I know Chip Kelly was once there but Johns Hopkins football would lose to MANY South Florida HIGH SCHOOL teams.

From a lowly spark, a bonfire can happen.
We're a mediocre P5 team, I'm willing to at least interview & listen to candidates from 'lower' schools.
Thoughtful post..
Holy f*ck. How about the coach who never punts. I forgot about him. That would be a blast.
