I felt I was always yelling, at the tv or in the stadium, that we needed to hurry up.

There was never urgency at the end of the game or before half. Very anxious to find out if it was TVD or Dawson/Mario. I think I know the answer but it's not the one people want to hear.
This is one of my issues with Mario-ball. I don’t care about run/pass ratio. I care about urgency and aggressiveness. I’m tired of ending halves with timeouts available. I’m tired of purposely playing at a deliberate pace even when we don’t have time to play slow. The reason it’s 2024 and we’re still worried about “bro-ball” or “caveman” football is because they’ve given us no reason not to be worried about it.

Mauigoa is at LG and we’ve moved Okunola or Bell to RT! That or we decided Baron/Bain/Messidor & Alston will be our first 4 DL

Boy when your phone starts autocorrecting to Motrin you know you’re ******* WARSHED

Logging off for the day. This is the apex.

I had no problem with what you posted. Just wanted a little elaboration on it. Definitely do not agree on the Brown comparison, but just my opinion. Brown also had more experience and probably more snaps in his couple seasons with us.

Emory was thrown into a situation where he showed some things with extremely limited snaps in practice up until then. And again, true freshman. There were also some catchable balls that were dropped in the FSU game. Not many but it is a team game. Also, it was not like he was highly recruited. EW was a 4 star if I remember and at the Elite 11 camp as a finalist (I think). I am glad he is behind Ward at the moment and has stood out in practices since returning from that nasty injury.

Wish all on the team to be healthy this season. We have a deep roster for the first time in a while, and it is time to show it.
I'll make it simple: I have a problem with him consistently throwing accurate passes in GAMES.
That's my comparison to Brown. Can he get better? Who knows

Im pretty sure it was from the top down, judging by the pace of the whole team.

But this is where I think Ward can help. Even though he isn't a coach, I just dont see him accepting that lack of urgency. He will be setting the tone, getting everyone to the line and pushing for that next play to come in.

At least thats what I hope

I disagree. We know he's not ACCURATE in GAMES so far
Yeah , Charlie Ward and Payton Manning was throwing imt’s like mad men early on too. People here crowned JB after a nice game against GT. I don’t base anything off a true Fr qb being thrown in the fire for one or two games against great defenses. Good or bad it means nothing. But that’s just me.

We’ve got an obsession with trying to mitigate the overly negative with the overly positive (and vice versa)

Can’t just leave it at Emory had some good moments in games he never should have had to play. He’s got plenty of time to keep getting better. Great kid to have on the depth chart even if he never starts another game but no reason to write him off at this point

But that’s too boring I guess

You nailed it.

Lots of people want to have a scorchingly hot take, either "Emory is THE WORST" or or or "Emory is the next Ken Dorsey".

Even worse, if you just try to put his performance into perspective, you are accused of caping or slurping.

Good kid. Teammates like him. I'll let the coaches decide if he sees the field again.

That is all.

Its hilarious man, like everyone on earth knows the td pass to georde was a terrible read and throw but since the db did some bs we got people saying oh he kept us in it lol. On top of that, that was literally 1 of his 2 passes completed in the entire 2nd half

People talking about other passes that weren't caught but brush off the multiple near picks like the one literally on the first play of the drive he got hurt, like fsu db just flat out dropped it. Talking about he goes thru progressions unlike anyone since kaaya lmao then when people swing the opposite way of that its bashing the kid lmao this board

All I want to see is we have a deep and competitive QB room. Develop the guys we have and at the same time bring in more competition.

When Wayne didn't t work out and Kelly didn't want to be second string or expected too much NIL, we were able to bring in Alston and Barron, while at the same time we continue to develop Bain and recruit ballers. Got to do that with QBs, too. I don't care that only one guy gets all the starting snaps normally there. Figure it out. Get up by 30 by half, have your backup come in on package plays/series, whatever. The QB room needs to be loaded.

😂😂 I didn't accuse him of throwing interceptions. But similar to Brown one play his throws looks good .The next it's wtf .

But who am I to have an opinion about Emory da gawd😂

I don't know how likely that is, but nothing's impossible.
Just saying very smart somewhat noodle armed QB surrounded by elite talent. Smart enough to get it to the playmakers and not throw away the game trying to be a hero. He basically has shown us that he is that already on a team that wasn't nearly as talented as what Dorsey inherited.

It’s one thing (as much as I cringe to say it) that made Jordan Travis so great. He was a playmaker but he also just did not turn the ball over. Frustrating as **** to play against

I’m a bit shocked how much love FSU is getting knowing full well they are downgrading huge at QB and WR. I don’t think DJU is the worst thing at QB, but Travis was better in every way by a long shot
FSU fans have convinced themselves that they have the 90s Cowboys OL and are just gonna run the ball at will on teams. Therefore, DJAG just has to be a game manager. It's quite hilarious

Dilemma happens in soccer all the time. You have coaches with great ability to adjust to matchplans and are comfortable playing from behind and some have their systems in place and get nervous whenever they are trailing.

Mario is the latter. His notion is to control the ball, control possession and control everything, starting with the scoreboard. The moment we need to adjust and change and go quicker with the risk of turning the ball over, the urgency isn't there.

I wonder if we practice situational football on offense in such a way to simulate late-game-situations.

yea i coached the db that uncanny jumped awkwardly in the fsu game.

He did the same thing in high school like a glitch. lol

That was an easy pick and was a bad read.

Not recognizing the joke of quarterback recruiting/development for a very long time here isn’t bashing, it’s reality and it’s driven home by the number who have taken at least 1 snap in the league since 2000.

Your ignorance is on display when you downplay the fact we’ve had less than a handful of QB’s on the roster in the last 25 years who are willing/able to play big boy football and go through his progressions.

Our roster has been filled with immature, entitled school yard QB’s who either don’t spend time in the book/analyzing film, are high at all times, are making amateur ****, or just don’t have the ability to be an intelligent player.

Proof of the garbage is in the pudding. Anyone anointing him is premature. But unless you e been under a rock it’s hard not to appreciate a player at the position here who commands the respect of his teammates and over time will undoubtedly get better and perform when the lights come on.
