Post Game Recap: TAMU

I do think CB defending deep balls is probably the biggest worry defensively as of right now... well that and if Mesidor and especially Deen aren't healthy asap (well not next week). LB is kinda just average still, but thats much better than last year or 5 under Diaz.

Offensively, honestly Really no worries. Just hopefully a guy like Arroyo and Tyler Harrell or a freshman wr with Speed can step up in the next week or two, because they'd unlock even more for this offense. With this OLine and TVD playing at a top level, this offfense is going to perform great.

Francis has had some bad moments the last couple weeks with pass blocking but that’s to be expected when you throw a true Fr tackle out there. Get him now while ya can lol.
I didn’t have a problem with 2 of his 3 holds. First one hurt us but it wasn’t terrible and the 2nd when he folded the A$M end wasn’t a hold to me. Just completely folded him but idk what’s a hold when the arm is around the head like that bc sometimes it’s called others not

Where were the TEs? One catch, and not to UM's best TEs, Arroyo or Skinner. Happy to see the WRs so productive, but gotta get the TEs into the attack.
I’d like to see the TE in the passing game too. It’d be nice to have someone step up and help out the Big 3. However, Cam may be eating a lot of those snaps and he’s used for other reasons - even though he did have that one huge first down catch. Whatever the reason is for the non existent TE play from a pass-catching perspective, it’s not really hampering our offensive output.

And Arroyo was out yesterday. Think he’s still week to week. Skinner …. I know he was dressed but didn’t hear or see number at all yesterday. Not sure about Riley either snap count wise.

Bro he's nasty I'm not one bit concerned about this your man. I'll take a hold or 2 with him. Cause once he learns. Beware people's. Future top 5 draft pick.

I'm with you on the TE bro. We need somebody to step up. Im hoping we see it the next 3 game. Before we get to the unc game

My absolute favorite thing about this game is that we didn’t just try to sit in the lead and milk the clock. The running game was going nowhere and we were getting huge plays through the air so Dawson kept dialing up the passing game. DO WHAT WORKS. Last week it was pounding the run game and short pass game. This week it was unleashing the downfield passing game. Don’t be handcuffed to a certain style and be confident/comfortable enough to keep attacking instead of playing it conservative.

Offenses are built from the OL. I said u could make a case we have the best in the ACC, you could make a case for the best in the nation by the end of the season. That is gonna take us very far alone. TVD deserves his flowers. I said this game was on him and he stepped up and was Tyler Van Dimes.

Im not gonna overhype 8&4 but this was a critical game for our progression.

This play stood out to me as compared to last year. When they fumbled the punt last year, we had five guys standing around and none of them hit the returner to get him out of the play and have let us recover. Kam sees the ball, drills the RB when it looked like the ball was bouncing to him, and then recovers it. **** of a play from him.

Very well said.

It’s where the Defensive adjustments will have to come into play for the next few weeks.

Because we’re going to be losing Kam for a while & the Safety depth behind Kam just isn’t on the same level whe you’re talking about Markeith & Balom. It’ll be interesting to see what he does with Jaden Harris & Jadais Richard.
I like moving Jaden to safety IMO while Kam is out.
I wanna see Richard at CB more.

@Memnon
As much as most will gripe, we should also give credit to the much maligned coach Big Joe, along with first year JT. I won’t go as far to say that I’m his number 1 fan (big joe), but for us to lose Messidor and Deen for the second half and still hold up pretty well speaks volumes. The combination of Moten, who played **** well and this will be the confidence booster for his progression, and even gore (who physically looks like a pee-wee football player in comparison to every one else on the line of scrimmage) held it down with heart and didn’t lay down. The development of depth guys you wouldn’t necessarily “count on” showed yesterday. While these guys didn’t generate pressures on their own at a mass rate, they did affect the game and the QB against a “highly touted” A&M offensive line that the broadcast kept drooling over.

So my point is that we have to give those guys props as well because those boys held it down. In the past, the game gets ugly when you lose your main pieces.

I hope we break the bank open next season to keep Guidry and Dawson when they get chances to be HCs. Mario nailed these hires

LFG Canes. Feels great to be a Cane today
