Post-camp thoughts

To be fair, the #2 WR in CFB last season was still supposed to be in HS. Not saying they’re the same, but it isn’t unheard of.
WR is the one position in college football where college experience does not matter and it hasn’t for years now. With the way 7 on 7 has evolved, and the accessibility to private trainers, kids are walking on campus as highly trained route runners, fresh out of high school.

He threw a pick directly into the chest of a Bama defender. Again, yes some of this is attributed to UGA’s overall ineptitude on offense. Again, I personally believe Beck didn’t have the supporting cast to play hero ball for them.

But it is not a stretch to say we are largely unproven at the WR position. If our WRs struggle, what Beck do we get? If we limit drops, run efficiently and keep Beck upright we will win the ACC imo. But how many times for the last 20 years has the situation been if we do xyz, we win xyz and then we proceed to **** all over ourselves?

Call me a mope, neg me to oblivion. Idgaf. Until I see them succeed on Saturdays I’m not buying the hype anymore.
This is what we brought CJ Daniels in for. He's got to be the guy on offense to step up. If Beck gets the time that Ward got they're both going to have a big game.

Let’s see. Coaches see him every day and position him where they think he’s most likely to help us win. Otoh, “you’ve been hearing”.

I agree. Personally I believe JoJo makes a jump this year. He looked good in the bowl game, our run game should lead to more 1v1 opportunities for the WRs. Daniels is a vet who should be able to make the glue, chain moving type plays.

I’m not trying to **** on the players on the team. I’m just trying not to sell myself on green tree reports. Logically, this team is better constructed top to bottom than last years. We just had the best QB in CFB last year by a mile. If Beck even sniffs anything Ward did, this could be a really, really good team. But you know the saying, if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. I gotta see them prove this next Sunday before I’m drinking the kool-aid again.

Yeah I would like to see Jojo step up as well. I also see Moore making his name known against ND.

The Lofton one to me is one I’m really curious to see. On one hand I hear quite a bit of hype… but also he doesn’t fit the traditional molds. So he especially is one I feel like need to see in action.

Like was said earlier, there’s a lot of talk about his NFL position is probably in the backfield. And how’s he’s not Elijah Arroyo in terms of a pure receiver. But we’ve got a crowded back field. We need an impact receiver.
Move backs are amazing as an OC, you can hide them and they allow your to put leverage defense in the passing game with post snap motion, as well as our leverage the defense in the run blocking game and give mismatches vs LBs, fun toys to scheme up.

Many have reviewed that play and most agree that the WR ran the wrong route on it and that’s why it looked so bad. That’s usually the case on timing routes where the wideout runs the wrong route.

All I’m saying is you posited that Beck could be rattled and that his performance last year was evidence of that. I’m staunchly refuting that. Beck has ice water in his veins. If he hadn’t gone down last season he woulda beat ND and PSU.

As far as what Miami does with him, who knows. We have demons to purge so maybe this is the year.

When it comes to the technical skills of the position, yes. We’ve seen young WR far more developed than decades ago.

But there are layers to being a dominant WR, and not all of it has to do with your physical attributes or your route running ability.

Experience helps when it comes to the cerebral aspect of the position. For example, being able to identify coverages. Or making the right decisions in a split second when it comes to running a choice route. Or even learning what releases work well in certain situations. A player like Restrepo checks all of these boxes…and then some.

Some kids get it sooner than others. Some kids never figure it out. It’s why a lot of players never end up panning out. If I had to guess, based on everything the insiders are saying, the lightbulb has turned on for someone like Toney. He just gets it. That’s why he’ll play a lot this year. But not every WR is on the same trajectory as him.

Cam wouldn’t take the check down to save his life and that is a fact. No matter how much word salad you wanna throw out here to try to change that, it ain’t happening because it’s a fact. Also, Cam not taking the check down cost us the Georgia Tech game and the Syracuse game. Those are also two facts. That’s reality my friend not a made up world. And it’s OK to point those things out because it’s true, Cam was the best quarterback we’ve had in a long time, but he would’ve been even better if he would’ve took the check down a little more.
We will revisit this.

Only miami fans would nitpick the best qb in the country leading an historically great offense to oh he didn’t take checkdowns so we should be more efficient

And saying cam who was literally lights out vs Syracuse cost us the game and not the historically bad defense or the terrible coaching is insane

Every year a top player leaves yall nit pick and just automatically say the new guy will do something better. Remember people said meesh and jaden would play within the system more than kam and james? This is basically this year’s version of that

Yall will learn the hard way again

Also slightly changing the style of play eliminates the terrible interceptions he had on the same plays during the year. Both things are true. The beauty of it is this, we Won’t have to worry about that with Beck this year because he will take the check down and I believe because of that, our offense will be more efficient.
Cam had 14 interceptions the last two years on 939 attempts in two different offenses

Beck had 12 interceptions on 448 attempts last year

This is either rage bait or you’re one of the dumbest people on earth lol

I have such an appreciation and respect for the sentiments shared above; there is no glaring deficiency in this team, but that doesn’t mean it’s a perfect team by no means, the grind of the season will expose some things.

It’s honest, yet tempered..

We need some different comparisons, maybe Herbert Oregon and the 2025 offenses at Clemson and PSU because those are the teams we are bout to pass when Beck outplays Allar and Klubnick this year.

The talent is there so it doesn't take much, seems almost always college teams with talent fail because of too much complexity rather than too much simplicity so "Good teacher, doesn't overcomplicate things" is all I needed to hear.

Great share. You have a HOF telling you the dline kept it simple and we had college kids running stunts every other play smh.

If that’s your comment on our upcoming season, it shows me two things. Number one you never played this game at a high level and number two you couldn’t evaluate the difference between a piece of dog **** on your lawn versus a piece of dirt.

Have you played FB at a high level? Nope, you are a CIS posters that has had bad takes since 2006. We know why you slurp and defend Mario. We lost the GT cause of our **** defense that couldn't defend against one arm QB and we lost to GT cause we decided to stop feeding Martinez and also cause of our **** defense. Cam made the running game look good. Nobody was saying lets stop the run besides mental midgets like you.

Also Mario your boy, should have fired the Hick from Louisiana like week 8
