  • Suspend a player for the entire next game for a second targeting call in the same season
  • no more two man wedge on KO's
  • after 5th OT go to 2pt conversion attempts
  • no more blindside blocks, now a 15yrd PF

They need to have different levels for targeting. Getting ejected and suspended because the runner ducked his head is horse ****.

Looks like they might be trying to clean up the call overall. replay will have to confirm the call, not just let the call stand, which could help.

"Instant replay officials will be directed to examine all aspects of the play and confirm the foul when all elements of targeting are present. If any element of targeting cannot be confirmed, then the replay official will overturn the targeting foul. There will not be an option for letting the call on the field stand during a targeting review."

Why don't they eliminate blocking, tackling, and sweating profusely?

Look at combine numbers some of these guys are putting up. Players are getting generationally bigger, stronger and faster in a matter of years not decades. They have to do everything they can to protect the players from some of the massive and unnecessary hits wherever possible or this game as we know it will cease to exist in our lifetime.

Got no issue with making the game safer. Im actually all for it. They have to do it smarter than they’re doing it. The targeting rule is a joke. There’s better ways to make the game less damaging for players.

I understand the targeting rule but it’s fcukin ridiculous most times. Now the crack back block rule is just plain stupid. I’m guessing they want a player to just block softer or just move out of the way. Stupid already
