Possible rules changes...

Exactly I don’t think Alabama has ever has a player kicked out of a game for targeting!
Agree with you.
I was actually talking about calling offensive players as well as defensive. Running Back lowers head for extra yardage. Defensive player now inadvertently hits his head. To me, this should not be a call. Game happens too fast. But. . . . In reality, if this has to be a flag, it should go against the offensive player. Almost never does.

Pretty soon the last few team sports with any testosterone will be Hockey, lacrosse, and rugby.
Yep, and for our badazz punter's sake, let's not forget Aussie Rules Football

  • Suspend a player for the entire next game for a second targeting call in the same season
  • no more two man wedge on KO's
  • after 5th OT go to 2pt conversion attempts
  • no more blindside blocks, now a 15yrd PF

Tough to call blindside blocks. Every pileup scrums, by definition, have "blind side blocks" and contact.

Tackling a player from behind is another form of "blind side" contact.

Where does this end up?
