Possible oc candidates

Was thinking Joe Brady would be a ridiculous momentum hire. Could role through with dropping big news after big news on this. Or does he just sit around counting his money from the buyout?
I know Joe Brady gets a lot of hype because of the year Joe Burrow had 2 years ago but are we sure it was him and not the other guy calling the plays that year?

The other guy was there in 2018 and 2020 when the offense was pretty bad. The one year their offense blew up was the one year that Brady was there.

Interesting that he flamed out so badly in the NFL. I guess it just doesn't work out sometimes.

I mean he’s dealt with the likes of Sam Darnold and Teddy Bridgewater. Two garbage QBs. Not to mention their best offensive player is as injury prone as ever.

Joe Burrow had something to do with it.

Not sure Sam Darnold is that same level of QB student of the game. TVD strikes me as being closer to Burrow in that regard. Not comparing arm talent at all- just football smarts and inner drive.

Burrow was there in 2018 though. Yes, you need a good QB but Burrow went from mediocre QB to Heisman winner when they brought in Brady.

Yes. I agree. I meant the two together. Did t say it well, though.

Forgive me if this was mentioned earlier in this thread, but I've been hearing people express that they wanted Ken Dorsey as OC. I don't necessarily like the idea of him being the sole OC, but I'd be good with him being Co-OC/QB and maybe keeping Likens onboard as Co-OC/WR. Especially since Likens is an experienced play caller and already has experience with the players on the offense, that way Dorsey grow. But, that is the only way I'd see it working with Ken as an OC. I prefer Tom Herman.

I’m against keeping anyone from a failed regime that isn’t irreplaceable. See Stoutland for the eagles for example. Likens ain’t that.

I think Brady would be an excellent hire, if we were able to get a seasoned guy to pair with him. I’m not sure how well a pair with Likens would work but something in line with that.

Yep. Trask was Top 10 in the country in every category last year, including attempts per game. His handing of 5 and 15 was baffling this year, but I think a lot of that had to do with AR's health. But when he had a legit passer last year, he threw it 35 times a game. Dan can coach offense, for sure.
He was panned at fl. for lazy/BS recruiting.
