Hmmm Lamar miller, cmac, Orlando Franklin, Feliciano, seantrel, Travis Benjamin, jimmy graham, clive walford, Allen hurns, Olivier Vernon, Allen bailey, Sam shields, hankerson, b. Washington. Ray ray Armstrong.. Demarcus van d. even chase ford playin in the NFL.


All guys I'm sure recruited in the Randy Shannon era..... But he can't recruit? Understand he may not have been a good head coach. But the man can eye talent. A lot of players getting NFL checks that he approved of. Foh with the Shannon slander. It's unwarranted
 
I've been on these boards for way too long...now we want Radio back...our best def coordinator the last 10 years was that dude who left to join Gundy...loved his attacking style....old guy anyone remember his name

Already heard Pruitt to Bama and Leavitt to Michigan. Dont really know of any other big names out there besides Randy lol or Manny Diaz, but ppl seem to not like that idea

He can recruit, he just cant manage a team
he couldn't manage the recruiting aspects and even classes

LOL at Randy being an elite DC.

He's so elite he's been a LBs coach since he got fired at Miami.

I really question our fan base when I see multiple people asking for Shannon to be the DC.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

Orgeron is 54 years old and has NEVER been a DC, there is a reason for that. He's a meathead recruiter/DL coach only, but he's **** good at it.
 
Clancy Pendergast deserves a mention. I still have no idea why USC let him go. That defense was suddenly attacking and smart again under Pendergast. He was also great against the Oregon spread while defensive coordinator at California.

I'm not sure he would leave the 49ers after only one season as defensive assistant, unless he believed that coaching staff is in trouble, which could be the case, after next season if not this one. The head coach has no business in that role.

Pendergast is an undervalued coach who came very close to winning a Super Bowl with the Cardinals. His defense surrendered very low yards throughout those playoffs including the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh scored on short fields and unlikely plays for the most part, like the interception return as the first half ended.

As a 9er fan, I could see Pendergrast jumping ship. The team is a dumpster fire and Tomsula is in over his head. Pendergrast would have the opportunity to raise his profile again.

Jim Leavitt would be great IMO! Although there may be better guys, I'm not sure who's out there. What about a guy from Michigan State, but someone else? How about the guy from Wisconsin? Iowa?
