There's so much uncertainty around this team. So many "ifs" - Beck's health being the foremost but certainly not the only. I feel like this could be an 8-4 team or an 11-1 team or anything in between based on the outcome of all those ifs.

I think pre-spring portal I said 9 wins and nothing post-portal really makes me want to move from that. Based on our continued penchant for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at least once/season, 8-4 sounds about right too.

Interested to see where posters are at comparing position groups from last year to this year, as I am pretty surprised at some of the takes I’ve seen. I’d be particularly interested in DMoney’s view on the matter.

Elite — Top 5 unit in the country.
Very good — top 12-15 unit in the country.
Above average — top 25 unit in the country.

Mine:

OFFENSE:

QB — Worse. Above average starter, average room.

OL — Equal. Was a very good group last year, should be a very good group this year.

RB - Significantly worse. No Martinez hurts. Fletcher is an average ACC starter, Lyle shows promise. Average room

WR - Significantly worse. Need another
Piece. Average room.

TE - Worse, but not significantly.

DEFENSE

Safety - Better, still need a piece but the word is the transfer is a very good player. Likely average room unless other piece is big-time.

Lb — Even. Below avg unit.

Cb - Much improved. Possibly above average unit.

DE — Slightly better. Lowe is the real deal. Above average unit.

DT — Need more here. Equal. Average unit.

Special Teams — Should take a step forward in the return game. FG Kicker is worse.

In short, ‘25 offensive groups are clearly a substantial step back (barring OL). Could be talked into OL being on the cusp of elite. One borderline elite player.

‘25 defensive group better at CB and Safety. No elite position group, no elite players.

No elite players in Specialist positions.
still early but I’m pleasantly surprised by several groups here. WR room in particular and DL have been better than I expected. Bain is playing at elite level too. Hope I continue to be proven wrong!

OFFENSE:

QB - Elite top 3 in country. Maybe 1.

OL — Elite. Top 1 in country.

RB - Very good. Fletcher has improved dramatically from a year ago. Need to see how Lyle and Pringle develop. Could be elite. Better than last year.

WR - Significantly better than last year. The quality of contested catches illustrates the vastly superior athleticism which will show during the draft.

TE - Worse

DEFENSE

Safety- big jump.

Lb — big improvement.

Cb - Much improved. Top 3 in country.

DE — Dramatic improvement. Playing great assignment football to go along with superior athleticism which

DT — Same as DE

Special Teams — Should take a step forward in the return game. FG Kicker is worse.

Ari Wasserman and Andy Staples put it best when saying Miami is the best line of scrimmage team in America.

Other than OL I'd say I was spot on.

I know most of the board hates it, but posting without Orange and Green shades is a dangerous game.
No doubt. Can’t say I blame people for wanting to find the positives and hope for the best. It’s when they start trashing the other “side” I shake my head

Would be boring to just say “I’ll wait and see” on every thread

Guys like Toney and Scott have been great surprises. Mesidor and Bain dominating early but getting neutralized lately etc

The “OL is never something we need to worry about” stuff should be dead though. Our playcalling isn’t helping them at all but it’s just not been a great group this year at all

QB - CVD
RB - Martinez to Charred Vision
TE - from 1st rounder to gronk actor from hernandez show, not a viable p4 player
OL - having a bad center is like having a bad heart, you can live, but good luck with that
WR - #1 pocket in the country and cant either get open or cvd doesnt see it, somethings wrong

Defense all upgrades
