Pope

Can’t say it’s one drop. I thought he played well last night. Drops have been there all year. He struggles making catches coming back to the football
You can say it’s one drop, he only dropped 1 pass vs ncstate and caught all the other ones that hit his hands. Yall got to start watching other teams, receivers/tes aren’t going to catch everything all the time

Every receiver has drops though, that’s the thing. Regardless he made more than enough big time plays than to just focus on that 1 drop when he finished with 6 catches 97 yards 1 td, that’s ridiculous imo
one drop? I think you mean one per game. look I love when local kids stay home but you know what I’d love more? If they legit gave their full effort and weren’t sorry. And we know the receivers weren’t giving full effort they said that in an interview

If not for an under throw, he would have had 150 and 2 tds. He played above average yesterday. Need to clean up drops, penalties, and start coming back to the ball
I liked That play he came back to the ball for a first down opening up the 2nd half though on the sideline. He’s getting better and better like i thought he would with more playing time

People need to pump the brakes on hating Pope. He seems to be making some strides of late. Some of these guys come along at different paces. Harley turned the corner the last two games - it can happen anytime.

I think for a lot of these guys it comes down to experience and confidence. Plus, We’re finally effectively stretching the field. It’s going to open up a lot for these guys and the offense. I think they are starting to get it.

He’s still good for a mental breakdown, drop or 2 a game but I really think Pope’s starting to put it together. He’s coming, you all be in such a hurry to write players off. Not everyone develops at the same pace.

Glad to see the WRs step up overall the past 2 weeks. Harley has been the man but glad to see Wiggins get in the mix after being **** near MIA since the Louisville game. Hope we can get the freshmen back soon too.

Passing game is coming along nicely.

Anyways, I liked The passion pope played with last night. He took over a series in the 3rd quarter when we were down and scored a touchdown.

yeah he had a bad drop where he lost focus but he made some great plays too and finished with 6 catches 97 yards and a td. He’s progressing as a player which is good to see. He gets consistently open. Starting to become a deep threat

Actually, Pope is average at best. Hopefully, one of the Freshman pass him up next year or that means we still don’t have a #1 receiver yet.

One thing about pope, he's a football player, should've redshirted, but he's working hard, he's a prime example of the nerd recruiting sites not knowing WTF they doing, football people knew, he's a legit college player but top notch receiver, he'll have a hard time being the receiver that puts fear in d-co's, but he definitely has enuff talent to keep making plays, a guy like him needs to run track, he has top notch santana moss exceleration but not long speed, once santana got behind you their was no catching up!!

All WRs have been better that’s clear but god forbid a blade of grass is higher than another and they’re going down faster than you can blink an eye

You stay hating on pope, give credit where it’s due

Nothing about his game shows "5 star" but happy to see him make plays and have a good game. I would be happy to eat crow if he turns into a beast going forward (i just dont see it). His best game as a Cane though, lets roll!

He and the rest of the receivers still get ragdolled around too much, but they all had good games on the deep ball. We really lack a dynamic playmaker in the open field. The WR screens are embarrassing when they can’t force a missed tackle if their life depended on it

Only way pope is making a catch in the middle of the field is if the defense is tip toeing around him.

He literally made one on the drive where we kicked that field goal in the 4th where the refs sh*tted us..
Pardon me he made that catch on the move in the middle. I was referring to him sitting down in a zone or coming back to the football.

I don't see it - at least compared to other elite WRs - but maybe he is. I did see that while we made more catches, none of our receivers really get YAC. They seem to flutter in the wind the minute the D touches them. Did anyone notice that? They throw our WRs around like they don't weigh anything.
Wiggins is the worst with this. Dude just falls to the ground at any contact. I even saw him fall with no one around him on one of our late drives.

He looks like his hips are dislocated when he runs

Pope running a hitch
