HC calls the plays at App State. That's a big con, I admit.

Still think Ponce would be a huge upgrade over Richt and his 1988 playbook. You know how long ago 1988 was??? This should give you an idea LOL

So this guy is the App State version of Dugans without the recruiting chops Dugans has.

He doesn’t call plays and has a bush league resume. There are 1000 better options than some dude who doesn’t even call plays at a G5 program.
 
Obviously Kendall Briles is the big name being tossed around and I'd be on that wagon with the quickness. As for who gets demoted/fired to make room for him, any one of our offensive coaches can kick rocks to make room for him. Including Brown and Dugans.

As for Ponce, it's an interesting choice. While I'm hesitant to make a move on a dude who hasn't called his own offense, he does check a lot of boxes for a possible hire. Intriguing choice and I wouldn't be against it but I'd prefer someone who's more traditional OC/play caller.

he sounds interesting but he's just not qualified yet for this level of play

i'd love to have him but not as the official offensive coordinator

Less than zero chance Brown or Dugans are fired by Richt. Both are inner circle guys for him with loyalty and trust in all directions, and oh by the way, both are doing great jobs. Dugans wouldn't have turned down FSU if there was a chance Richt was gonna fire him a year later. C'mon man.

Honestly, if we just started by hiring this guy to an off-field position and he did nothing but script the first 15 plays of the game, it would be a step in the right direction.

Because patke is useless. We def need to get rid of Searles, but he aint getting replaced by an OC. And let’s get real, Jon aint getting no where!

Yes, Brown is an overpaid RB coach. Pay no attention to that co-OC title. With that being said young Richt is the obvious odd man out if Richt does hire an OC. Most OCs double as the QB coach.
