Polendy Out for the Year

He should’ve, but that ball should’ve been out 3 secs earlier and that was a big gain. Again, inaccuracies by Rosier

Agreed. If Rosier had at first seen Mallory wide **** open he could’ve hit him in stride for a big play. But alas, he didn’t see him until he was 5-7yds from the out of bounds, threw a crap **** pass behind him, which Mallory bobbled before going out of bounds. Maybe Will could’ve/should’ve caught it, but the fact of the matter is Rosier should’ve hit him yards before then, and watched the young man work his magic in the open field.

It wasn’t a gimme, it was very late and behind him. He should’ve caught it but the timing was off and bad accuracy.

If Malik hits him when he’s open it’s a huge gain. But he finally saw him after he’s worked across the field and was almost out of bounds. But that’s what we’ll have to deal with:

It was a little behind him BUT he got two hands on it sooooo...

His hands are too good for that. It happens.

Yep. Not a very good throw at all, but that's more because the ball came out late which would have made for zero run after the catch. I Played both WR and FS in high school, and any time you don't catch a ball that hits both hands, you could count on running your *** off during the next practice.

Yeah.

Virtually no TEs, a punter that underperforms and a kicker who isn't off to the best of starts.

Not as big a fan as many on these boards who love Hartley.

Make him a recruiting coordinator.

And as a whole, our staff doesn't seem to know that you can actually get JUCO players, too.

If we had a decent staff, we'd have TE, DE and DT JUCOs at this point to add experience to the groups.

It's good that Butch will be in the stadium this weekend, but unfortunately he'll be on the other sideline.

Was at the game yesterday, Pollendy went down in warmups. Non contact knee injury. Classic ACL type deal. Anyone heard anything?

I think we all agree it should’ve been caught , but it’s a lot harder to catch a ball when you’re running full speed and have to reach back , all momentum going forward.

I don't think it was a catch able ball, good he got his hand out to prevent an INT...it is the rare player that can pull in that ball. Tried to find it but could not unless I watch the entire game...

Most teams only carry 4 scholarship TE. In fact I can’t remember the last time we had 5 in the roster. And we did bring in a grad transfer at the DL. He is on the two deep.

It was a catchable ball.
Here's the bootleg. Mallory is circled in orange.

Here you see a blitzer who takes away the first opportunity to hit Mallory and causes Rosier to stretch the play wider.

He has an outlet (orange) but it'd be a minimal gain, so he waits for Mallory to hit the second window in the zone.

Rosier actually squares his body pretty well here considering he has a man draped on him when he delivers the pass.

As you can see, Andre Ware is an idiot. Rosier was not "late" on the throw. He had a free blitzer coming right at his face and had to create extra space to get the ball out. The ball is a little behind Mallory, but it's completely catchable. This is not some sort of circus act by Will to get both hands on the ball. He turned his head up field before securing the catch and dropped the ball. Could have been better. Needed to be out front. But I've seen Mallory make way worse passes into effortless catches.

ball hit him right in the hands.

I thought it was Polendy at 1st because I thought no way Mallory would have such a bad drop.

dumb.

he just brought in the #1 TE class in the country, and there's a good chance he lands Zipperer in 2019. And we have the #1 2020 TE.

but yeah, let's drop him because guys get hurt or get kicked out by Richt.

Even your hero Butch would tell you you'rje a ******* moron

Richt didn’t mention anyone else other than Willis, Bandy, Finley, and Johnson today. Those first three will be fine and Johnson has a hammy which will be watched carefully this week. I’d say he’s 50/50 for Saturday.

Either I’m calling BS on Polendey or for some reason Richt didn’t mention it. Can’t afford to keep losing guys to long term injuries. Already lost Irvin, Brown, Rousseau, Wilder, Herbert, and now possibly Polendey. Throw Richards in there even but he’s week to week I’d say.

What injury does Wilder have?

Hartley just needs to give up ST duties. As a TE coach he's fine. We just signed the two best TE's last cycle, have Hodges committed who looks good, and are in a good position for Zipperer. It's hard to account for injuries when half of your unit is hit by it.

As far as DE and DT goes, it's well documented that Kul was a lazy recruiter and ****ed us in the end. Simpson looks to be catching up on the trail where Kul was lacking.
