@DMoney if Rivers were to not get a senior bowl invite and come back what do you think the oline looks like? Any chance of him sliding to center so it’s Bell/McCoy/Rivers/Cooper/Mauigoa? I feel like Mario mentioned it and maybe you too that Rivers can play that spot, and that would be a filthy 5 to roll out there.

Cooper is average at best if you believe this write-up from BJackson.

"Cooper has permitted a team-leading three sacks and 14 pressures, and PFF rates him below average as a run blocker, ahead of only center Zach Carpenter in that category on UM’s offensive line. PFF rates him 280th of 656 FBS guards overall."

Barry Jackson was the same dude who wrote many pieces claiming that we were severely under talented, especially during the Golden years when we played opponents like fsu. Tidbits like we were very slow and overmatched in the defensive back end, which was proven wrong as several of slow pokes played in the NFL. I don't disagree with his overall assessment that we have several players and/or units not performing well but at the same time he is usually not sure what he is looking at.

I think Rivers will get an invite and go.

Is Cooper playing injured? Last year, while not the best pass blocker, he was solid, and he was was a bulldozer clearing the path as a run blocker. This year he seems to not be moving as well.

PFF is also dog**** with OL

Not saying Cooper is absolved and he was looking off after he hurt his ankle but still

There have been so many games where I see some PFF number heaping praise on someone and I feel like I’m being gaslit because that’s not at all what I saw watching the game lol. Not just Miami, and not just oline play, just in general.

I’d be curious to wind the tape back and see what they’re putting on Coop, because there have definitely been some not great games from Francis this year where PFF would lead you to believe he stonewalled everyone.

I gave up on PFF for OL when Scaife was All ACC

But yeah in all seriousness Lance’s breakdowns he would talk a lot about OL

One of the more helpful parts was when he would mention not being sure about responsibilities and whatnot but yet PFF can turn around less than 24 hours after a game and have all the answers?

Earlier in the season they were saying Mauigoa hadn’t given up a pressure or some **** I’m like yo I’m not even watching the OL and saw 2 in one game what are we even talking about

Pancake should be in line to start if he’s worth a ****. If he transfers you know it’s because he won’t be in line to start next year. He will have 2 years of development under his belt with an off season to be on the starting line. Let’s hope he buckles down.
