The funny thing about So FLA fans is that they are arm chair QBs. Majority of the people on these boards have never been associated with college athletics but think they know what is best. They go watch a few HS games and think they have it figured out. I a die hard Csne and have had several ofy friends play for Jimmy, but we have the worst fan base when it comes to college football.
 
It is gimmicky. Outside of Ohio State, who else has run the spread and won s National title? Isn't tgat what we all want again-a National title?

You're making an apple to oranges comparison. Herman is winning a bad conference with 2 and 3 star guys. He's doing it against like competition. If he comes here, he'll have elite talent to compete with. Chip Kelly coached in Oregon. Last time I checked Oregon isn't a talent rich state. Look how they've taken a step back as his players have left. With Butch we're assuming that lighting can strike twice and that he still has it. As people age the game passes them by. Also the fact that no one else has shown interest in him should make you wonder.
 
We NEED HERMAN!!!! spend that money and get him!!! That man is not a 1 hit wonder.... If not Miami I hope he stays and kills at Houston!!

You are right. We are so different from all the other fan bases where people on their message boards do not claim to know whats best.
 
How do you know. The man lost to Uconn, and if that would have happened here, you guys would be flying banners. South Florida is different and you need somone that understands it.

Dude, you can't compare that scenario, Houston 3rd string QB is their star WR'er, don't give me that... AGAIN, I'll be very happy with Butch, BUT HERMAN IS A MUST GET

Im not high on Richt but you have to be mentally retarded not to want a 50 point per game offense at Miami.

The one thing all the 3-4 Saban defenses (like what they have at FSU) struggle with is tempo and motion. They are built to stop pro style play action offenses, and they dominate.

Spread them out and run tempo and they struggle. In other words, your porst is an epic fail.

I assume OP means for us to have old style Hurricane defense also. That is NOTHING like Nick's fat, slow 3 -4. In fact the old Miami defense, which only we have access to enough speedy talent to run, is the exact defense to shut down the spread and tempo. Very little complexity or substitution. Aggressive attack on backfield with react first and speed. Ran base defense and said beat us. Tempo is designed to defeat "smart" defenses with numerous sideline calls from countless pages and multiple substitutions. Today's offenses are rebirths of older models Canes already destroyed that only resurfaced because we were entombed by Donna gate.

Definitely agree with No on Herman... but Richt (as long as it's a 4-3 D) and Chip Kelly would be solid choices. As well as Charlie Strong and Butch Davis... with Gary Patterson as my #1 .
 
With a title like Please no Richt, Kelly, or Herman, you must be an idiot. Those are all good hires. The people you need to be hoping we don't get were Fuente, Cristobal, Schiano, etc.

2008 University of Florida with Tim Tebow
2010 Auburn University with Cam Newton
 
Herman has already turned down USCe per ESPN this morning. He's either going to take another job or is staying put and waiting on Sumlin or Strong to be lousy next season. He's NOT coming here.

Anyone who DOESN'T want Kelly is a moron of epic proportions. I recommend shooting yourself in the face and picking another sport to follow.
