Really blows my mind that **** teams like clemson, TCU, and oklahoma are still ahead of us. Especially Clemson seeing as we beat the team they lost to and beat their best win bigger than they did.
Dumbest take on this board (by sometimes otherwise intelligent people): "Nothing matters! If we win out then we're in!"
Well thanks. Thank you for setting the bar higher for us than any other program aside from Wisconsin (with an incomparably weak schedule). Please remember your standards if we somehow lose a 1 pt game to Notre Dame and then beat Clemson. Or smash Notre Dame and lose to Clemson in OT.
I'm not in the business of EVER predicting a Canes loss but for chrissakes- some of us need to learn how to play this narrative game a little better and wayyyyy earlier. The SEC starts excusing losses in like week 1.
Nonsense. Barely beating unranked teams followed by squeaking by a horrifically bad UNC team put us in this position. Had we rolled over our schedule, then we’d get the benefit of the doubt among one-loss teams. We didn’t so going undefeated is how we get in the playoff.
You know what's worse than barely winning? Barely losing. The two teams ahead of us both lost to Iowa State. Oklahoma just gave up 52 points! Oklahoma won by 5 against Texas, 8 to BAYLOR, and 7 to Kansas St. How are those teams looking this year?
In my opinion, there is only one possible scenarios where if we win out we don't make it in. That would be if ND loses the rest of its games, Clemsons loses the rest of its games, GA & AL play the most overtimes in history in the SEC Championsip and Bama wins and then OK & TCU play forever until they decide it a tie. I'm pretty sure none of this happens.
When Miami beats #3 ND, and Clemson wins out, we will beat another #3 team. That would be two wins over a #3 and win over #13 . Not to many better resumes.
TCU and OK will clear one or the other out of the way, we will clear Clemson out of the way, and GA or AL will clear one or the other out of the way. With a common opponent in ND with GA and us unbeaten, they couldn't leave either AL or GA, whoever loses, ahead of us.
I can't think of a single scenario from here on out where if we win out we don't get in. Just my opinion. I really could care less what the rankings are right now. Just keep winning each week and it will all work out.
If we win out, there is 0.0 chance that we don't make the playoffs..
So we have a clear path into the top four. Just like I tried to explain to those buffoons all week.
Do you mean with a loss to ND?
What?
I mean we obviously are in if we’re undefeated. I’m asking do you think we have a chance as a 1 loss ACC champ
No, we are out with a loss unless it's one of those seasons in which everyone loses again.
We should be ahead of TCU. BUt who cares. Winning will fix it. We beat ND we will be ahead. We lose your point is moot.
They play OU this weekend. Why would we jump them if we both beat a top 5 team?
unreal that oklahoma gives up 52 pts and gets rewarded. best is clemson loses to cuse, next week has a bye when we easily beat cuse and jumps ahead of us
Some of you are so delusional and fall right into the hands of these polls and the hype they create.
With 4 weeks left, there is nothing to worry about except winning out. just last week everyone was in a panic about OSU and PSU and look at those kid touchers now.
If we win out, we are in. Period.
