Player you can't believe didn't do something special in the NFL?

Some of the players that some posters put on here actually had solid NFL careers. One of them is Kellen Winslow II who had about 500 catches and over 5000 yards receiving plus I think made a couple of pro bowls. He messed up a possible Hall of Fame career by messing up his leg really bad in the motorcycle accident. I think he had to go in a few times because it caught staph infection of some sort up in Cleveland when they were having all those players getting staph infections.

Stacy Coley
Leonard Hankerson
James Jackson

Wasn't expecting Pro-Bowls - but I expected them to contribute to a team for multiple years. They flamed out a lot quicker than I thought.

I don't know why people expected a tremendous career from Stacy Coley. The guy has a lot of talent but he is as soft as pudding. He was a seventh-round pick and to his credit he is still in the league and only 24 years old. He still has a chance to have a solid career.

I have to say probably one player who I thought might have been pretty special was James Jackson. He was like the first pick in the third round and only played like four years as a backup and was given plenty of opportunities by Butch at Cleveland.

Cleveland Gary....dude was unstoppable at UGA and Miami, but just never kept it going in the NFL.

I'm not sure I would say Cleveland Gary "was unstoppable at UGA." But yeah, he did well at Miami and it seemed like he would have a good NFL career, especially since he was such a good receiver out of the backfield. Seemed like he started out okay with the Rams. Did fumbling issues derail his career?

One thing I do know for sure is that he broke the plane of the goal line in South Bend...

Stacey Coley... I thought dude would kill it in the NFL but his concentration is way off

Duke being second... I really hope Dallas trades for him to Pair him up with Zeke they would be an unreal combo

I'm pretty sure Duke leads all NFL running backs in receptions since he's been in the league. I don't think anybody could realistically expect him to be a 20 carry a game back.

Brandon Harris was elite his last two years. Kid was a big part of that 2009 FSU win at Doak and I remember him locking up Demaryius Thomas in the GT game. But he never caught on.

Him, Sean Spence, and Allen Bailey. But mostly Brandon.

Green tore his ACL the first day of practice & missed his first season, then the following training camp tore the same ACL.
Never really had a chance to do anything,

Yatil Green.

I echo the Winslow II nomination. Sky-high ceiling but a total head case.

If we're stepping out of house, I'd have to say Maurice Clarett. Another high ceiling; another head case; another waste of talent.

This is really tough.

Im not sure this is my definitive answer but the first name that popped into my head was DJ Williams.

Decent career but I really thought he would have a Hall of Fame type of NFL career.

I think he had a little bit better than a decent career. very solid career I think he led the NFL in tackles one season and had over 100 tackles for like five seasons. I think people are misinterpreting what this thread is about.

Leonard Hankerson and Phillip Dorsett. Phillip has time to turn it around and showed flashes last year but I thought he’d be a pro bowler by now. That guy was wide open on every deep route when he was at Miami it was incredible. Some think he’s a bust already but like duke, if u put him in the right situation I think he would really thrive.

Another of my two choices. I was in hog heaven when my Rams picked him and Bill Hawkins both in the first round, both let me down. Cleveland Gary looked like he was in the NFL against Michigan in the Big House, **** I loved having him in the backfield and even better catching a pass out of the backfield!

Najeh Davenport was my other disappointment, another victim of the knee-hunting OSU defense that took him out in Giants Stadium in the kickoff classic, then 4 years later they do it to Willis McGahee, total POS is tOSU!
