I'll believe it's a "legit rumor" when someone from our side puts it out there. Until then, it's a stark contrast to the rest of the coaching rumors, for the reasons you've said. Hires so far have made sense. This would not.

Do the people griping about hiring coaches who were fired by Richt not realize that Richt was fired?

I know we're all in "hope for the best" mode, but Richt didn't leave UGA for Miami ... He was fired, and we scooped him.

So, if we're ok with a fired coach ... Why wouldn't Richt be ok hiring one? Especially if the guy has improved over the past 6 years?

We're hoping Richt is better with us than he was with his last program ... We may need to apply that same hope to the DC hire ...

all this logic is stupid. Those 2 have sucked at Tenn, Richt has never sucked anywhere...

Same guy texted that he thinks its more Jancek is getting fired, not taking a job elsewhere . Butch is evaluating him.

Just asked Pete on Twitter to weigh in, hope he does. I agree though that makes more sense. We're probably way too stressed about this process.

Newsworthy that they have close relationships with their family? Seriously.

Jancek was their LB coach, and now after not performing especially well at Georgia and then Tennessee, he's going to come here as DC? I can't see that.

Martinez would surprise me as well. He made the decision on his own to fire both coaches at Georgia.
 
people need to stop trying to get into richt's head. No one saw him hiring Coach Kool. the guy is here to win National Titles. not to employ former friends he fired.
