Phillip Dorsett Cracks McShay's Top 32

Mike mayock said he thinks dorsett might end up in the 1st round.

I listen to mayock cuz that guy knows his ****. Said he thinks perryman is a 1st round mlb too.

If **** pans out right we have possibly 3,THREE, 1st round picks (flowers, dorsett, perryman). 2 2nd round picks (duke, walford) and maybe 3 more drafted in (gunter, chick, feliciano).

How the **** did this team go 6-7.

Al will come out and take all the credit for developing players, like his first round pick at, you know it, Temple. Duke, PD, Flowers, and DP are the type of kids who you can't mess up. They are driven internally. I will puke if I hear Al get credit. Walford needs to kick back a little to Kaaya. Brad made him money this year. First time we had a QB who can throw over the middle to TEs in years.

Some of y'all kill me, man. LOL it's too much.

You let your hatred of the man blind you, you should really stop doing that. Criticize golden for the things he deserves to be criticized for, and give him credit for the things he deserves credit for. That will make you more credible.

One thing you can't take away from Al Golden is that he is a great evaluator/developer of talent. Look at Dorsett, for example. He was a CONCENCUS 3 STAR recruit... meaning out of high school pretty much everyone thought he was "meh."

His first couple years at Miami, he was inconsistent, didn't have good hands, and was pretty much a one-trick pony.

Through his own efforts, and with the help of the coaches at Miami, he has overcome all that and become a more complete receiver. That's awesome for him, very happy to hear that. Same way I'm happy to see how Clive Walford developed, or Ladarius Gunter.

But for you to sit here and not give the coaches any credit is just you being a hater. Hate on Al Golden all you want for being ****ty with schemes and a terrible gameday coach. Hate on him for not making halftime adjustments, and for being out-smarted on the field pretty much every Saturday.

Don't hate on him for the way he develops players, it just makes you sound pitiful.

Are you for real?
If we had real coaches, Ereck Flowers, DP, Duke, Stacy Coley, Tracy Howard, etc would ALL be guaranteed 1st round picks.
Golden excels at taking extremely talented players and not getting any production out of them.
and he'd have to be mentally handicapped in order to not recruit the guys he did...Oh wait, He misses out on much more talent than he gets.

Al didn't evaluate or find PD. He committed to the previous staff. And besides the ND game his sophomore year PD racked up a lot of stats. I'm sorry I can't give Al credit for finding or evaluating anyone. Gunter was a decent corner nothing more. A big decent corner. Al didn't find Walford, PD, Feliciano, McDermott, Duke and Chick. They all committed to the previous staff and were productive upon their initial start. How can you say someone is developing a player when they do not recognize their strength? You can't say he's bad at X's and O's but he develops talent. No he doesn't. We went 6-7 and those players made little impact in the losses or collapse towards the end of the games. Players did improve but that's not developing.

Alright then, let's talk about Shannon for a second since he found Dorsett and Walford and Feliciano etc.

Just like Golden, fools rip him for everything and everything. But, if you take a more balanced look, there are some things that Shannon did well. For example, he could identify talent. He was also a very good defensive coach.

I think what screwed Shannon over more than anything is he never had a quarterback, and he kept hiring bad OC's. But you listen to some fools on here, and the man could not do anything right.... which is just ignorant.

You gotta look at these things in a balanced way IMO.

See, I don't know where you're getting that from.

Flowers might still go in the first round.

Duke broke every rushing record at Miami, not sure what more he could have done during his time here to improve his draft position. He'll be drafted high, but if he doesn't go in the 1st its because A.) he's a running back and B.) There are durability concerns with him. You can't really blame his durability on the coaches.... if anything they tried to bulk him up so that he could become more of an every down back which is a benefit to Duke.

Perryman was a 3 star recruit. Not sure how that makes him a "guaranteed 1st round pick." He came in an underweight, 3 star kid, and he's leaving a true 240 lbs thumper of a middle linebacker and a butkus award finalist. Not sure how you can claim he wasn't developed.

Coley and Howard aren't even eligible for the draft this year, so you can't even speak of them yet. Who knows what they will do next year.

Again, your criticisms are all misplaced. Knock Golden all you want for his schemes or lack of adjustment, but your criticism of his player development is just ignorant.

I don't get your point on Shannon. I don't think he was half as bad as many make him out to be. He left the program in better shape than when he came in but that wasn't enough. He didn't win enough. That being said, he was a
1st time HC. 1st time HC's should never coach at UM. It took Butch 6 years and Coker had instant success but for what we needed in 07. He should have never been offered.

As for Golden. My issue is that I don't think he's a good evaluator of talent. For 4 years, his top players were all from the previous staff. Meanwhile, the majority of his kids either flame out, transfer or get kicked out. Outside of handful of players like Kaaya and Flowers, I don't see where he is evaluating and bringing in hidden or unheralded ballers.

The only players that have gotten better are Gunter (relative unknown and became something), Dorsett (gained consistency) and probably Flowers (for all the **** people talk about Kehoe, he is still the OL coach for 5 championship teams). Duke just got bigger and played more snaps. Perryman just got bigger and moved to the middle which tends to lead to more tackles. Chick got worse (at least within the system). Howard got worse (and he is eligible for the draft, but Golden has ****ed his career so bad, his draft stock is basically non existent). Coley has gotten far worse. Water has not improved. Seantrel looks a lot better in the NFL than he did in college.

Golden has proven he is a master of taking something and making it look like nothing. He has not proven development, because he has a cast of elite players to begin with. I don't care if Dorsett was a 3 star. kid was already good, but just needed consistency. Perryman plays the same now as he did from day 1, but he's bigger. Most of the rest of the rest of these guys were big time recruits to begin with.

Golden just needs to find guys who are already studs that just need to bulk up. That's the only thing he's good at is putting weight on players (although sometimes he hinders a guy, by going a little too crazy. See chick). In 8 years as a HC, (not counting this year since we don't have the final draft results yet) Golden has developed how many draft picks of 3 star or worse players? That sounds like he hit on a couple guys more than he developed them.

If you want to make the argument that Golden is a decent evaluator, I wouldn't argue it, but I don't believe in his ability to develop players. Players excel despite Golden imo.

Take a deep breath buddy. Lol

I know his impressive senior bowl week has been posted about numerous times recently, but I think Dorsett's rise during the pre-draft process has been awesome and couldn't have happened to a better, more humble guy. Obviously McShay's big board doesn't guarantee anything, but it's a testament to Dorsett's work ethic that he's made it all the way to #32 overall and a borderline 1st or 2nd round pick. Worth noting, PD came to UM as a three star across the board on all recruiting sites. No site rated him higher than the 38th receiver in his class, and most had him somewhere in the 40's. No matter where he ends up going in the draft, I'll be glad to see him prove those "expert" recruiting sites wrong. Congrats to Phillip. Can't wait to see him shine in the NFL.
What makes that worth noting?

It's worth noting that PD worked his *** off to get to this point. He was ranked in the 40's, in terms of receivers, coming out of high school and now is a consensus top 8 receiver in the NFL draft. Never said a thing about wins/loses or about golden and how he impacted PD. I give all the credit toward PD and his work ethic. You got a ******* problem with that? If so meet me in Temecula u ******* idiot.
