Pardon my mope interjection…

But outside of our 6-2 record it be nice to have some statistical flash to show from that. Leading passer in the ACC, leading rusher in the ACC, top 10 nationally in either? Nope.

But there’s a QB who’s been sacked 41 times this year who’s thrown for 2,600, 22 TDs with 5 picks. Not about the other QB but it just goes to show there are people doing way more with considerable less protection

Thus, teams don’t respect our risk taking early or speed. We then get behind on downs and it is much easier for teams to play a little softer making sure they don’t give up a deep ball without giving up a first down.

I’ll make the bold prediction. If Chaney, Fletcher, and Parrish play, we run much better and NCSt is forced to play more man coverage. NCSt also is a bigger risk taking D than uva/Clemson so expect more blitzing with the chance for us to make big plays. TVD and Dawson should plan for zone but don’t be blown away if we see NCSt running man on shorter yardage downs.

My concern is that UM plans for man and when defenses play Zone, UM struggles to alter the game plan.

It was my intention to point out the OL play and from what the film shows, despite the great play by them, the OC and the QB are just ******* this thing up with a wrecking ball.

Several plays where he was back there for like 5 seconds.
Had all kinds of time all game long.

We should be picking apart these prevent defenses. Any QB should drool over having all day to throw. This is on Tvd , not Dawson. We have guys open. He just throws to the one that is triple covered.

He actually does better under pressure vs when he has time to throw let the stats.

So, it’s the responsibility of the OC to put him in the best spot to succeed and that is with RPO’s, mesh concepts, seam throws, etc as that is his strength and the OC completely ignores it by drop back and pass football.

It’s criminal Shannon hasn’t dialed up any RPO.

To say it’s only on TVD and Dawson, IMO, flawed analysis.

I would say it’s 55/45 on TVD. The OC has to do better. He needs to change up his offense some and he hasn’t done it since the bye week.

TVD is a seasoned QB that should be able to find the open guy. Dawson can improve by leaving him on the pine. He looked happier there than on the field. Win win.

Yeah man. 5 of his 7 interceptions have come when he has no pressure. The 2 interceptions he’s thrown under pressure were vs UNC.

He actually completes at a higher completion % and for more yards when under pressure vs when he doesn’t have pressure. So the more he has to read/decipher/think, the worse he is as a QB per the stats. Film doesn’t lie and the stats paint a pretty good picture.

With even more reason he needs to get benched. Good GOD it’s mind boggling to keep wasting time hoping that he gets out of the funk he is in. WIlliams is who needs to start. Dawson and or Mario need to grow a pair of balls and make the tough decision they get paid for. The team has one more game (a tough game) before facing the semenholes since they wasted a perfect opportunity during the UVA game to let Emory get some much needed and deserved playing time. If he can’t make plays with a clean pocket then maybe it’s time to reevaluate his career choices or he might just go and kill it in the nfl because he’s going to feel lots of pressure and get hit quite a few times per game.
