And hasn't sniffed one since! been 10 years already. 15 years and 2 conference championships, he is batting a whopping .133, an average of once every 8 years. but carry on with your cheerleading.

You're right. I knew 98% Tuesday morning though. But, I had to wait for 100% to send emails out the a-list.

If he is motivated and still has that fire, this is a good hire. If he's as washed and lethargic as he's looked the past two seasons at Georgia, while he's an upgrade over the incompetent triumvirate we've had the past 15 years, I fear there is a ceiling that puts us in the 'same ol' category. With that said, Richt doesn't have to be Saban or Meyer to win a title here. Miami doesn't need a great coach, because if you can accumulate talent in this oasis of savages, Miami makes you a great coach. But you do need to be competent, which, we've lacked for the past 15 years.

At the very least, this is a litmus test to see where Miami truly stands in the current college football landscape, because the past three coaches have been an albatross on this program. Can Miami compete with simply a good coach and talent accumulation or does Miami really need unreal, generational talent accumulation and great coaching. We'll see. At least I'm motivated to renew my season tickets.

So let me understand this.

Butch was actually offered the job, maybe even signed an LOI after Saturday's meeting. He wakes up the next day, Sunday, Mark is fired and that totally changed everything?!?! UM actually pulled Butch's contract?!? Straight savages, didn't know they had it in them.

yea your right butch is a bum he only assembled the best college football team of all time and did it while on major probation. then went on to the nfl took the browns to the playoffs only to come back to UNC program that sucked *** and assemble a team full of NFL players. What a ****** *** track record.

Cant compare him to Mark "Big Game" Richt who has won a ***ping 2 conference championships in 15 years. he will fit right in at Miami where 9 wins a year will earn him a lifetime contract and a statue at the hecht.
