Agree completely. And if you read what Barry Jackson just wrote, his source confirmed many of our fears: Schiano was next man up if Richt turned us down. Yikes!
 
I like richt but prefer Butch. In all honesty, does anyone know if he had a bagman at UGA? It certainly seemed like he wanted no part of it but it was definitely going on. He still couldn't win **** and we all know he will not have one in Miami. I don't think this will end well.

I think Butch would have done ok. Positives/Negatives with both. Richt can recruit. No doubts about that. I only worry that he won't have that edge needed to get the team over the top. Maybe getting fired will get him the motivation.

everybody on here acting like we just got Nick Saban or something lmao this guy never won anything of substance in his life. but all everybody talks about is his 9 and 10 win records, like that is supposed to make me excited.

how many championships does he have? whats his record look like in big games? this guy is a religious country boy, terrible fit for Miami.

I don't think he would have any part of it, but it would be interesting to see the cars those kids are driving. I've heard some good stories about a retired Clemson coach and the money that was taped under the benches in the locker rooms after games, and they're not even in the SEC.

Butch wasnt fired for performance. He was fired because of the scandal and all the NCAA stuff going on. So thats a bad analogy. Richt just got fired bc he never won anything important in his 10 plus years at Georgia

How else was he supposed to get South Florida recruits to live in Athens, GA and compete with other SEC schools doing the same? at least in miami he won't need to resort to these money scheming tactics to keep the best athletes home.

calm down. obviously I hope he can turn things around. I just think we blew it with this one. Out of all the people out there this guy isnt a good fit for our culture and what we need right now. unity and praying before games isnt gonna bring back miami football. neither is a coach who cant win big games and has no championships.

Oh it most definitely will. It was perfectly set up for us and we blew it. Such a simple, obvious move.
Obviously we've moved on from being the U that everyone knows and loves. Now we are a beta school who will be playing in a midmajor in a couple of years. Future MAC East Champion Miami Hurricanes!! here we come lmao
