Wonder what happened to Nash.
What's the point of this thread on a free site?
I'm okay with rumors and gossip provided they are framed as such. Any news (even unsubstantiated rumors) is worthwhile. Let the reader give it the appropriate weight.
Just my $.02.
Pete has two problems.
1. He lost his connect
2. Breaking the Richt news has made him develop the yips. He's scared out there. He's afraid to make a mistake because he thinks his rep is too valuable now. He's overthinking everything, doubting himself. He's scared to post any info or rumors. He's like Chuck Knoblauch firing balls into the 10th row. He's been trying to post a new version of The Work for the last 5 days but he keeps editing it, previewing his post, ripping his hair out, slapping his face yelling "stupid stupid!" and then deleting it. He's not the same. His Richt news has put fear into him. He just needs to fly around and make plays.
Knoblauch never really recovered. Next thing Pete will be out in left field and surpassed by Geo. ****.
I don't think DMoney is allowing his playmaker to make plays, to be honest. This is simply coaching. He needs to simplify things and let Pete loose.
He's got Pete sitting on a bunch of rumors and info and instead of aggressively rushing to the computer to post them, he's asking him to play it safe.
"Just keep the rumors and news in front of you, buddy, don't make any mistakes."

He played the Ferman game in 2013 and got Ferman results. I like the Pete of the last two years who breaks commitments seconds after the "Welcome to the U" goes out.
Give him some time and let the dog hunt.

A month and a half ago he broke the Richt hiring. I think that constitutes as bringing the heat.
He didn't break the hiring. Was 1st reported on Georgia board by a poster who was a Richt family friend. Pete just read it and tweeted out.

That random Georgia poster must be the same source who told Pete that Golden was likely fired hours before he got canned. Or the source who helped Pete break so many commitments and coaching moves.
If Pete was just copying and pasting internet rumors, any slapdick with a computer could've broken the Richt hire. Of course, that didn't happen.

I wasn't speaking to the Golden firing or the recruiting commitments. But it was READILY apparent, that NO ONE on the UM side had any connections/sources once the old staff was canned. Look at all the rumors on the coaching search for evidence. Go back and check the timeline. The Richt hire was confirmed by a UGA poster (who had previously been right on the Richt firing) on their board and Pete took it and ran with it and put it out on twitter. Good for him, but saying he BROKE the story is disingenuous.

Pete wasn't relying on coaching sources for the Golden firing or the Richt hiring. That's above their heads.
I know who he was talking to. And those sources, while not involved in the day-to-day recruiting grind, are as strong as ever.
