no we had no QB come in thanks to Jon richt and dad. we tried hard for hurts and he told us no thanks. tate was in the portal and had a teammate from his HS team on the roster. he came down and got a fair shot at the starting role and didnt get it. sometimes you hit on a QB and sometimes you dont. there are 3 stars that people mis evaluate and turn into studs. jimbo put three straight QBs in the first round of the draft and still had bad evals on QBs that recruited after (malik, frenchie (injuries didnt help), blackman).

I'm all for Tate playing at this point. We have nothing to lose. But if you actually saw the way he looked at QB at open practices, it wasn't that inspiring and worth getting excited for...

I feel he should transfer because it's best for him if he ever plans on playing at whichever position he decides to stay at, but the idea that he's secretly the best QB on the team is ridiculous.

The fact is he's a very limited passer & lacks significant arm talent, that doesn't mean he couldn't be an effective QB for another team, but people need to stop acting like he's some Superstar.

Ryan Day is literally one of the best QB developers in college football, he was with Tate for 2 years, saw him up close & personal & could've easily handed over the keys to team to him once he became HC, he flat out went NOPE & brought in Fields & told Tate to hit the road... That's been a major red flag that Canes fans have been in denial about since we got him.

Go watch tates start from last season. Looks better than any qb on our roster by far. Not even close.


Youre acting like he got beat out by a 3 star at ohio state. Any coach in the country would have started fields.
