I just said this in the other thread "Sports Buzz" but I think, I have to think this is a major smoke screen. We thought for months we had to endure Golden being here the entire time per "reliable" sources, and BOT said nope....and he was canned. It was all about Butch at first, and then as more and more reports started to leak out about Butch, we've now directed our attention to three corchess, Shula, Cristobal, and Strong.

I know we have a bad Admin, but they can't be this bad can they?? Oh wait, we've sucked for the last 11 years....so yeah, maybe they can.

Why would we need to put up "smokescreens"??

Yes they can be that bad and I have a feeling with this "search and hire" they will go into the record books of bad.

I TOTALLY agree w/ you. Too many mixed messages that has come from this admin ever since Shalala was here. I can't wait for the day til all of the stinch of Shalala and Golden are completely gone from this school.

Miami is zeroing in on Charlie Strong despite his conflicting reports that he wants to stay at Texas according to his "well placed" source. They feel that he wants out of UT and want to wait to see if UT would fire him. Stated that if they (Miami) feel that if they don't get him, then VT will.

If Miami is waiting to see if this comes to fruition, then F this search committee. Putting all their eggs in one basket is beyond stupid. Play the wait and see game and in the interim, coaches like Herman, Fuentes, and Rich Rod are being wooed by other teams.

Any comment like this is dumb and irresponsible for any reporter to put out there. The fact that just hired one of the most reputable groups to find them a coach means that they are not zeroing in on anyone. They likely have some candidates in mind and some coaches have expressed interest but they are not leaning in any direction at all.
