Leach is basically just a very public version of your average Fox News viewer. That's not going to move the needle on recruiting. I'd be willing to bet that Mark Rick doesn't watch MSNBC either. Kids (and parents) are smart enough to know that most old white, wealthy coaches have a similar mentality as Leach, whether they are vocal about it or not.

Before anyone says "well he recruited 3 inner city california kids last year". It is a lot easier to recruit some low level 3 stars by saying "hey do you wan't to play on TV every Sat at Wazzou or get 1 televised Thursday games per year and a handful of games stream on ESPN+ at some MWC school like San Diego St". That is who he went up against for recruits. MWC schools. Here he will be going head to head with all of the powerhouses for talent.

You'd be surprised who'd want to play in his system.heaven forbid if he got a bunch of 5 stars he might score a 100 points by halftime.

I'll agree with you on this one. I do think winning and players on the team would soften this. I also think he has an eye for talent that would fit his team. South Florida is absolutely loaded with 3 star talent that would kill it in his offense. ****, I miss my South Florida HS football games, not only for the talent but the fans in south Florida have so much heart. Best HS football fans anywhere.

the problem with leach is that he wouldn't get past the first 3 years with that record here. not sure if he'd win more w a better talent pool, obviously, but we generally have little patience with coaches

Valid concern, but isn't it equally head scratching the players that prefer to live in Alabama, Georgia, S. Carolina, and any other Klan hometown area?

You have to take into consideration of location too. Winters suck up there and it's in the middle of nowhere. It's a tough pull for city kids that have better weather and more things to do. He probably doesn't even concentrate on those highly rated kids because he's never going to pull them to W State. JMO

Texas would beg to differ my Oilman, Jerry Jones hosted over a quarter million people i think at last years state playoff games, his grandson QB'd the winning 5a team, he's a gamey little fart, signed with the Hogs. That may be the single most spectacular weekend of HS ball in America, i think its 3a-6a that all play for the title over one weekend, in THAT freakin badass stadium, what a treat for the kids to play on same field as the Boys. That damm ole JJ dont miss a lick does he, money making ****, you should pull up next years list of events at Jerry world, unbelievable, yea he paid. I wonder why that's not done at our stadium, or it may be.

They also drop tons of bags and Saban has never done anything racist. Blaming Trump for everything is not getting old. It is actually gaining traction in poor uneducated parts of the country. And that is exactly where most of our elite talent comes from.

I think Richt would win this for a number of reasons. A lot of black people in Florida and Georgia love the Christian vibe that Richt puts off. They think of him as a good example for their kids and believe he will be less likely to do some shady **** to their kid.

A lot of people also really don't realize how much social media and stuff like that influences inner city people. These families HATE Trump and the only info they get about him comes from social media. I mean I was literally on instagram the other day and someone posted up a picture with some writing on it that said something about Trumps mother being an illegal immigrant. It was obviously complete BS, but it had thousands of likes and tons of people I knew where commenting on it like it was pure fact.

Because of this I have Richt winning this battle. And I can't stand Richt. lol.

That said I would take Leach over Richt in an instant.

You are 100% right. The poster made it seem like you could be coaching at Alaska state and as long as you win 5 stars will come. I just wanted to point out that is not the case. Winning solves a lot, but it is not everything when it comes to recruiting.
