People can bash Leach all they want, but ****.

Not getting into the Mike Leach debate, but Bill Belichick recently went all the way out to WSU to pick Leach's brain on offense. So if Bill Belichick is implementing some of his ideas, maybe Mork Richt should at least realize that he needs to get with the times and that offensive schemes need to evolve as defenses adapts.

We won’t know the answer to that question until we have a OL coach that teaches OL technique.
My bet is Wazzou is lucky if they have one 3 star on their OL. Gotta be the coaching. Also, MInshew is the opposite in terms of decisiveness from Perry. He goes through his reads at least twice as fast as N'kosi does. Perry is still late on many of his decisions/throws and after two years in the program, that is not a good sign!

Jesus christ this is retarded. A majority of the top programs right now are southern right winged racist as **** areas. Win and kids will come. Plain and simple. We have fans yelling ****** at georgia players and kids still flock there.

Kids want to ball out and 'secure the bag' in the league above all else.

As I stated Leach doesn't have bags at Miami to be able to pull kids like that.

A lot of these programs are in racist areas and their coaches are most likely trump supporters, but there is still a shadow of a doubt in those kids minds. Does Saban and Kirby support trump? Probably. Leach however is actually friends with the guy and is vocal about it.

wait, your saying the kids wont sign with him because he knows Trump, wow, unfortunate but the truth ? these kids dont give a flyin F if he's friends with Trump their 18 years old

Do you think 18 year old kids are stupid? They probably hear their mom, uncles, aunts, grandparents, and friends talking **** about trump every single day. If they have comparable offers that is going to be a black mark on Miami for most kids. A lot of these kids parents would literally not let their parents play for him.

Do recruits care that he’s a republican? They often go to Alabama or places like Oxford, Mississippi

All of those places drop bags. I don't think these kids necessarily care about the coaches political views. However, does anyone actually know for a fact if Dabo, Saban, Jimbo, Kirby, etc are republicans? Obviously I would bet my life savings on that, but we don't know for a fact. Also, most inner city kids do not dislike republicans(they may vote against them, but they don't inherently dislike them), but they do hate trump. Leach doesn't even have the ability to say "hey I am not a trump fan, but I think he was the lesser evil of Hillary vs Trump." Or "I vote republican because of their fiscal policies". He is friends with the guy.

This is not my view. I would play for him if given the oppertunity. I am looking at this from a young 5 star inner city recruits eyes.

I like the pirate. I think he has done a lot with the talent he has. The only coaches that have done significantly better than him with a bunch of walkons and 2/3 stars is Dantonio and Paul Chryst.

That said, does anyone really think Leach is going to be able to walk into Carol City or other parts of Miami and recruit these kids after every recruit in the nation knows about his affiliation with Trump. It is unfortanate, but it is the truth.

Before anyone says "well he recruited 3 inner city california kids last year". It is a lot easier to recruit some low level 3 stars by saying "hey do you wan't to play on TV every Sat at Wazzou or get 1 televised Thursday games per year and a handful of games stream on ESPN+ at some MWC school like San Diego St". That is who he went up against for recruits. MWC schools. Here he will be going head to head with all of the powerhouses for talent.
I think he'd come in and have instant success and the kids would buy in when the offense is scoring 50 points a game....so hopefully the recruiting wouldn't be an issue. Definitely a risk with him though.

So you're telling me, the greatest head coach went to Leach to learn about his offense?
People that bash Leach are ***tarded... He has a top 25 offense and top 25 defense in the country... Look up how many schools can make that claim this year..

Washington State's records before Leach arrived

4-8
2-10
1-11
2-11
5-7
6-6
4-7
5-6

Leach's 1st 3 years 12-25.. Since he's 35-14 not counting tonight..
I look at the bigger picture. Stats do reflect that Leach is doing a great job, despite what a few porsters think.

I would take him. I would keep a lot of the staff for the time being especially with the recruiting connections. One way or another, Kenny needs to be the qb coach.

Certainly on offense he would be. His defenses over the course of his career have mostly been crap on a stick but this one he has now isn't half bad.
Hard to get defensive talent where he has been.

I agree with that. Honestly if it wasn't for that little issue I named above. I think he would be a massive upgrade over Richt. I just don't see him being able to land the south Florida skill position kids that he would need because of his affiliations. If he starts to win a bunch of games every season with his 2-3 star recruits I can definetly see him landing a bunch of elite northern florida/Georgia Offensive Lineman, Kickers, Punters, and QBs. But he wouldn't be able to get the elite skill position guys from Miami or really anywhere else and that is exactly what we need to do to win nattys at Miami since we don't drop bags.
Well, Richt is getting plenty of that talent and we suck. South Florida kids would love to play in his system, scoring tons of points a game.

There are more than 2 ends of the spectrum. Richt sucks at coaching , but is OK at recruiting. Leach sucks are recruiting but is a good game day coach. We need someone who can do both. That said you must not spend much time around people from the inner city if you think any of them would play for Leach if they had other comparable schools offering them.

What screams inner city with Richt, Saban, or most other coaches? And Leach can’t recruit? Maybe it’s the fact he is coaching in less than desirable locations. Hey, maybe we can hire Randy Shannon so he can nab those inner city kids, only to have them underperform.

Nothing scream inner city with Richt, Saban, or most of the other coaches, but Leachs association with Trump is `going to instantly turn off 99.9% of inner city kids. You do realize that the VAST majority of elite skill position/Defensive line kids come from the inner city right?

I believe Leach would do just fine with the kids in So Fl. With his Air Raid principles racking up huge yards and PPG they would flock to be in a system like that where they could shine locally and put up video game numbers for the NFL scouts. And if he only was able to pull in 3/4 * kids from So Fl, missing out on the top starts because of supposed affiliation, just imagine what he would still do with those players who are much better * players overall than most 3/4 * players from elsewhere. That, and we wouldn’t need 50PPG to win. Leach gets us 30pts consistently with Manny holding down the defensive side we’d win most, if not all our games. I’d like our chances going toe to toe versus Clemson in the ACCCG if he was here.

Exactly. Leach smoking fools and ain’t got nary a kid from Miami playing in that system. I don’t care about the kids from Miami. You bring Leach here and them kids from Miami won’t leave.

You do realize Alabama has more racists and klansmen than Miami, but inner city kids keep going there. Man, kids don’t care about politics, they care about making plays, winning games, and going to the NFL. Trump is a non issue, period. Trying to make it sound like he is is pretty sad.

No ****, but for one they are paying their players. Also, Saban is not a klansman himself. If Saban came out and said he was a KKK member you can guarantee inner city kids will stop going to Bama.

Like I said you clearly don't spend much time around inner city kids so you don't really understand how Trump is viewed there. These kids will absolutely not play for someone who is friends with Trump. This is not about politics. If Leach was friends with George Bush they wouldn't care. Trump is seen as worse than the KKK in these neighborhoods.

How is it sad that I am just stating cold hard facts. You make it seem like I am a liberal spreading propaganda. If someone was trying to start up a hunting team in some rural Appalachian mountain team in west Virginia. I wouldn't think it would be a good idea for them to hire someone who is great friends with the leader of ISIS to recruit these guys either.
