the difference is espn/si/and even local reporters who cover the team and want espn and si to notice them would be all over that. they know about bama they k now about Clemson but they don't report it if Miami did that **** would be a piece on si the next day
Saban doesn't text, email or tweet. I have two words for you when it comes to that:
Plausible deniability.

Saban runs the Bama program like a criminal enterprise.
The only other people that never text, email or tweet are the heads of crime families.
Think about it.
Yeap, problem no.1 with respect to UM is that people down there don't know how to keep their collective mouths shut.
Five minutes after a prospect gets hooked up it will be all over social media and on Cane sites, including this one...which in turns gets picked up by local media which lives on these same social media sites....and, as mentioned above, local media have no issues putting this on blast in their quest for fame and national spotlight...case in point, look at the dimwits on this site who feel compelled to post everything N'Kosi does every day.

Unfortunately, the bags we drop are a lot lighter than everyone else's
Need kids to buy into the program before we start doing any sort of bag dropping
Still don’t get it, do you?
WE DON’T DROP BAGS.
Hundred dollar handshakes from boosters and fans, gifts here and there of small electronics, phones, and the like. Sure, quite likely.
But us compete at a Bama or UGA level, LOL - no. It ain’t happening. For the various reasons already discussed bysome of the smarter posters in this thread.
That’s just the way it is.
If you don’t get it, you don’t understand the financial picture of college football, and we’re Miami will typically sits in the pecking order of revenue and overall well. Additionally, we have the absolute lowest number of interested wealthy boosters of any major P5 program - that’s just a fact.

Trust me Nancy, I definitely get it
We're no where near the likes of Bama, Clempson, UGA, UF, etc...
That being said, like you stated yourself, "bags" don't always have to be filled with cash
