Patrick Joyner explains decision to flip to Miami

Nice pickup.

Always great to get the recruits at the top of our board - especially from our backyard.

Would like to see another DL commit soon - Chatfield, the JUCO DT and hopefully a big-time national DT and perhaps even the DE from NC.

Pretty sure they’ll be done at DL after Goldwire and Chatfield commit

That's concerning if that's true given that Chatfield's a DE. I'd like the Goldwire pick up, but we seriously need bodies at DT.

Told yall trust the staff, they have a plan.

Great pickup for Miami, that's two classes byke to byke flipping a FSU LB.

It's also great that we didn't allow the Noles to come down to our turf and take a great prospect from Miami's backyard.

South Dade should be a feeder school for Miami, that's why it was important to stay on Joyner & flip him, also need to flip Tyrique Stevenson as well (which we will).

If the Noles or the Gaytors are gonna get a good Dade player they need to fight like **** for'em, we should never just concede kids over to them.

I'm glad Diaz didn't settle and just take a kid that he didn't really want, no need to reach for bodies. Take the best LB you want in this class, plus 2019 is loaded at LB, literally 15-20 deep.

**** 15 to 20? u got them names for me Liberty City El......whos your top 5 in 2019

I love Brooks hes a got **** man child or will be after a college weight room

We're only going to bring in 2 DTs and we're going to lose 3?

Pete, do you still think both McIntosh and Norton are leaning NFL? If we're only bringing in 4 while losing 5 (including Chad, Harris and Moten), that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. ... Also, on that note, does Patchan move back to DE permanently even though we will still only have 3 scholarship TEs?

Hmmm...

Only one LB this class? So are we gonna stop recruiting Gainer now?

I mentioned this on the podcast last week, but as of right now the staff is not sure how serious Gainer is about them. He kind of exposed himself with the coaches the first time around and they don’t want to get played again. They have only wanted one linebacker in this class the whole time, but they will probably kick the tires with Gainer and see what’s up.

Are they not impressed with Bonitto or just comfortable with the current depth???

Going to more of a 4-2-5 system and don't need as many LB's. Look at the number of DB's they are bringing in, this staff is recruiting for the scheme switch.

Is this really the route or just because to make room for a loaded 18 class. I just can’t see a coach changing their entire scheme in a league where it isn’t needed. I’m all for packages but a complete overhaul I’m not buying.

It's possible with all the spread teams that are in our league 4-2-5 is the way to go. But the key is versatility. So when we face a team like a Wisconsin we can switch to more tradition 4-3. But it seems more offensive teams are employing spread and rpo so 4-2-5 is the best way to counter from a defensive standpoint.

It's effing awesome FSU is nearly shut out in South Florida this cycle.

I'm so tired of seeing Miami kids light us up.

Agree,at DT we could be losing Mcintosh,Norton and Moten,to only bring in 2 is concerning since we don't know what can happen with Willis.

I can't see both McIntosh and Norton leaving. Can also see DJ moving inside a la Pat Bethel.

McIntosh/Norton
Bethel
Willis
Goldwire
Silvera
Ford
Martin
DJ?

Think we will be ok there.

Shiiid s. Dade, killian, the Ridge, homestead, palmetto is a treasure chest of passed over talent. Been so for years. In addition to zoo, the west, btw we should always scout talent that far south.

No Briggs?

Briggs let it slip during an interview that he was all FSU until Jimbo left. More than likely will still stick with them.

Don't like this at all. We need 3 DTs in class IMO for balance.
