Patchan

He’s got a better track record and has built up equity. Patchan has not.

Agree with you that Bandy has a better track record and built up equity, but that’s because Patchan hasn’t previously played much.
Since you’re saying Patchan should be benched based on how he graded out over the last 4 games, whatever prior track record or equity that has been built (by Patchan, Bandy, or any other player) is irrelevant under this 4 game standard.
One could make the same benching Bandy argument under that 4 game analysis.

Blades has the 3rd worst pff though. We don’t have a better option at CB, we do at DE

Yeah saw that re Blades. Im curious as to how Couch and Williams are doing and if they’re viable options at this point. But I like Bandy regardless.
At DE and to me Rousseau, and to a lesser extent Hill, have flashed. Haven’t studied them to know how they are overall and relative to our other DEs in terms of consistency, Getting pressure, setting the edge, and whatever else factors into being a good DE.
Will be interesting to see who starts next Saturday.

Blades ain’t been anywhere near as bad as his grade suggest

Blades ain’t been anywhere near as bad as his grade suggest

For what it’s worth below is what was said about him:
Snaps: 164
Blades has impressed PFF with his run defense, earning a 73.8 grade in that phase. His coverage grade, however, is a 59.6 on the season. Blades has allowed five receptions for 71 yards through four games. He has totaled 13 tackles and one interception on the year.

2nd lowest graded defensive player after 4 Games (PFF) he needs to sit in the bench
And he was the highest player graded after UF. Pretty quick to throw someone under the bus particularly when that position group hasn't factored into any of our poor performances. No one is saying you shouldn't change the frequencies and situation he's in the rotation but he's still one of the best rush defenders.

If you're going to bench someone, do it where it will matter.

Been saying it all along. Patchan is a great guy who says the right things and is from a UM family BUT his play is trash. All off-season people were talking Patchan up for no reason other than to pump sunshine. I remember several guys like @Franchise saying he’d get 7-8 sacks this season. The guy had one his entire career entering the season. Spare me the injury stuff.
Patchan’s career summed up in one play. The 2017 FSU game when it’s 3rd and a mile. A huge moment against our biggest rival. He’s up against one of the worst OL’s in power 5. He tries to speed rush on the edge and falls down...untouched. Frenchy completes the pass for a 1st down because he has all day to throw.
