Our oline.

Will be alot of cross training, not just for starting positions but for depth too incase we make a rotation

Welp I'm starting 3 freshmen on my oline in CFB 26.

I hope M&M do better in real life than I did in game.

This is a totally stupid observation, but Buchanan just looks like he'll be really good. His film was good and he has a good frame. Seen him around campus a couple times. Kid looks like a player. Of course, this means nothing haha.

I think you can rely on Samson, Cantwell, and Rodriguez to give u good consistent minutes. I’ve seen McCoy play, above avg at run blocking, but sucks at pass blocking. How much more can he improve, he’s not young? Cantwell will start and contribute, expect a few bad moments though. I think Samson can be a good LT, 6’5, 6’10 wingspans, really athletic.

Minaya, Buchanan, McCoy and Meriweather will probably compete for the guard spots, I don’t think any of them can play tackle. Imo, they should add a tackle and OG/C for depth.

I don’t expect anybody from the 2025 class, besides Buchanan, to contribute next season.
Merriweather can he played it at uga! Plus, he 6'7

I know the coaches absolutely love this ol class and have called it their best ol class ever. It wouldn’t surprise me to get two starters out of it.
Agreed! One of the many reasons why I'm not worried about the OL for next year. Having all of those guys already on campus and in S&C and nutrition, and then Spring training, I don't think we'll notice a big drop off and I think the QB will take the pressure off as well.

If this Joel Ervin character is as advertised...no reason he cant give you snaps inside as well.

It’s the biggest impediment to us making it back to the title game again (assuming Mensah works out). Our lines dominated ND, TAMU, OSU, OleMiss and held up against IU…where we are as a program requires the OL to be upper echelon compared to other CFP programs, not the ACC

Watching film break down of our OL especially late in the year and the CFP, we were a cohesive group, a wave of linemen blocking together five to ten yards down field. Defenses were getting overwhelmed and our receivers would fill the gaps and seal off any LB or safety penetration. Fletcher and Brown were feasting on this, I don't think we'll be close to being that successful next year losing Cici, Bell, Cooper and Brockenmeyer. Cici,Bell and Cooper were really big guys 330lbs plus each. I just don't see us moving people that way again next year, plus in practice that group had to go against Bain and Mesidor every practice, iron sharpens iron. There will be a substantial drop off, but I do think adding Mensah, Barkate and the other two portal WR along with Toney will give us more explosive play potential.

Mensah's movement and extending plays should offset the OL drop off.

Why didn't they try to retain Kinsler once Seaton fell through? He's homegrown so they know what he's got. Or is that the reason he's gone 🤔

OL development takes time, similar to DT. Those positions need as much technical development as they do physical development coming in, as most get by in HS on size alone. I never understood OL/DTs leaving early in a career for lack of playing time unless practice has shown them they are in way over their head, especially with coaches who can get to you the NFL.

Dont think it was a money grab at all. Personally I think if nil didnt exist he would of been committed to Lsu along time ago. We're not going to win them all and its not that surprising to me that a kid attracted to Coach Prime would be attracted to Coach Prime Lite (Lane)
Nil or not LSU has ALWAYS been paying players. But I do think attention seems to be his motivating factor.

I'm not putting too much into the OL turnover because the conference as a whole got weaker on the defensive side as well. We can game plan quick plays against better teams if need be. The key is going to be wtf Shannon calls at what time. If he calls plays that take 4+ seconds to develop, the line may struggle a bit. He keeps calling run plays up the middle, the box is just going to keep getting stacked and the entire OL is going to look bad.

One thing I've notice in the pass few years, we are surprising good at masking our weaknesses. IMO Guildry did it very well, but we just had soooo many issues on the defense at the time, couldn't hid them all at the same time. Shannon masked Carson's arm strength most of the season, but would get pass happy and start asking every girl at the bar if he could buy them a drink.

We get separation at the WR spots this year and the offensive will be top 5. We figure out a way to cover the middle of the field on defense, we will be top 5. If we can do both...around the same time, I'll be at The Bunny Ranch getting my stick polished before the game.

I got
LT/ McCoy
LG/ Okunlola
C/ Rodriguez
RG/ Meriweather
RT/ Cantwell

Will need to be the best coaching job Mirabal has had since he’s been here honestly.
