Our oline.

Exactly.

We just played with the 3rd best OL we've had here in 4 years and they were good enough to win a national title.

So Mario and Mirabel have put together 3 very good to elite OL for the past 3 years.
I'm certain/confident they'll do it again.
Yeah, the OL is not what I'm concerned with for this season. I really do trust Mario and Mirabol to take care of it. We need QB1 and we're cooking.

LT Mccoy/Meriweather
LG Okunlola/Wilkerson
C Rodriguez/SJ (help)
RG Buchanan/Minaya
RT Cantwell/Meriweather

Would be my first guess.

Let’s see what happens in Spring.
Read a few threads that said they could project Meriweather inside versus tackle. Anyone else tracking this, potentially? Obviously they’re gonna put together the best 5.

He’s played most of his snaps at Guard. It’s possible. He’s unlikely to beat out Okunlola or McCoy at Guard, but he could compete with Minaya and Buchanan for the other G spot. If he loses, he can be swing. Totally up in the air

I personally have a lot of concern. Their are a couple other positions I think we needed to add talent from the portal where we didn't, but the OL is now my biggest concern. Their is enough talent with our coaching to be ok in the ACC. Will it be good enough to beat ND with the portal DL talent they brought in and win playoff games? Don't fool yourself, that is a huge question. With the money we have in the roster, we failed not adding more experience than just Meriweather.

No. All or nothing now. Other than the fact the portal doesn’t apply to grad transfers (I think) and the fact that the ncaa has said that an athlete doesn’t need to go in the portal to be eligible at a different school.

grad transfers post-Spring are going to become the new “Spring portal”

I would not be surprised if we go that route at OT if the staff decides they don’t like what they see after Spring ball.

I think you can rely on Samson, Cantwell, and Rodriguez to give u good consistent minutes. I’ve seen McCoy play, above avg at run blocking, but sucks at pass blocking. How much more can he improve, he’s not young? Cantwell will start and contribute, expect a few bad moments though. I think Samson can be a good LT, 6’5, 6’10 wingspans, really athletic.

Minaya, Buchanan, McCoy and Meriweather will probably compete for the guard spots, I don’t think any of them can play tackle. Imo, they should add a tackle and OG/C for depth.

I don’t expect anybody from the 2025 class, besides Buchanan, to contribute next season.

People don't understand we didn't NEED seaton. He simply was the cherry on top. Would've been nice. Now his funds he was asking just go elsewhere. It shows he didn't leave deion over development like his people were trying to say. He didn't stay and he didn't follow loadholt and he didn't go to BY FAR the best developer of talent at the position. He chased lane to LSU. It's clearly a money grab. As good as he is we don't need MORE of that mindset being catered to here. We made one exception to that so far this offseason. No more.
Idk if it’s just me but I’m genuinely not at all worried about guard.

Between Samson, McCoy, Buchanan, Rodriguez (if SJ is able to start at center), Minaya, and this transfer, I’m highly confident we will get solid OG play. Plus if just one of the opinion guards are the least important position on the Oline.

To me this is all about Center and OT. And I’d feel pretty confident in Rodriguez. I wish SJ was like 2 inches taller, but if staff felt he was ready I’d rock with it, cause they they have been quick to get portal center 3 times AND Nino portalled out asap. So to me it seems clear the answer at OC is confidently on the roster.

So that really only leaves OT. And obviously Cantwell is gunna earn on of those jobs. The question is will one of those guys truly earn the other OT job, or just win it due to being best option….tbd.

I feel our best line up option right now is likely to be
LT - Samson / McCoy / Congdon or Ervin
LG - McCoy / Rodriguez or Merrywheather / Minaya
C - Rodriguez / SJ / Buchanan
RG - Buchanan / Rodriguez or Merrywheather / Minaya
RT - Cantwell / Tbd

I will say I’d still like Kinsler back to add to the competition and as a guy whose been developing for a few years now

I would work both Samson and McCoy at LT in the spring and ride with whoever looks better. The other at LG.

Need Cantwell to hold down RT.

Then either Rodriguez at C with Meriweather, Minaya and Buchanan battling for RG or SJ or Buchanan at C with Rodriguez at RG.

Wish we still had Kinsler.

I like this line up but I see it a bit different. Meriweather mostly played guard at Georgia specifically left guard.

LT RSR Matthew McCoy 6-7 325
LG RJR Jamal Meriweather 6-7 305
C 6th SR Ryan Rodriguez 6-2 300
RG RJR Samson Okunlola 6-6 330
RT FR Jackson Cantwell 6-8 325

I think this can be a very good offensive line. I trust these coaches, they have proven they can develop offensive lineman at a high level and I don’t see any reason for that to stop now.

Remember Mirabal cross trainers guys at every position, so although McCoy hasn’t played much LT in games he has received lots of reps at that position over the years.
