Our OC and DC

We’ve had one coordinator get promoted to a head coaching position (two of you count Manny) this century. Ok. Three if you count Coker. Ok 4 if you count t Shannon. The only one who hires Miami coordinators is Miami.
Lashlee.

Sure, there’s reason for optimism. He’s an up and comer with potential for high upside but we have no idea what that floor looks like. I’m not sure that’s what this program needed at this point, but again hope it works out.

Those are impressive stats but who gives up 30 to Iowa?

Hahahahahhahahahha that was good.

Really though, Iowa wasn’t completely inept on offense last year finally for the first time in a century.

They scored as many points per game as…..Florida 👀

imho, dawson seems like the type of dude who would be perfectly content to stay a coordinator for life. it takes a 100 mph 24/7 maniac like saban, meyer, cristobal, etc. to put together an organization with structure (and then sustain it). some people are content to be scottie pippen. dawson strikes me as scottie pippen

Technically, three UM coordinators have been hired to head coaching positions at other schools this century. Greg Schiano got hired at Rutgers in 2001. Manny Diaz got the Temple Job in 2019. And Rhett Lashlee got hired at SMU for the 2022 season

Best set of coordinators since Coker and Schiano and it’s not even close.

No I meant the opposite. Those gigs are gonna get you fired in 3 years but you’ll be rich afterwards
Ah, gotcha.

Even better would be for him to build a ECU like school into a 9-10 win per season school THEN go get one of those big contracts at a bigger school.

If all goes well this is definitely the last year Dawson is here. You have to win to get HC jobs.

B2B 10+ seasons at P4 level gets any OC a job now. Dawson comes from the Mumme and Holgerson tree. He could’ve left last year.

If this **** is running smoothly we should be changing coordinators every 2-3 years.

Tbh you should NEVER have a coordinator for 4-5 years. If it’s going well he’s out, if it’s going bad he’s out

Don't youu know that Dawson only has had 1 good season ever as an OC and it was last year?!
I know it’s sarcasm, but anyone who actually thinks that is hilarious, his work in 2023 might’ve been the most impressive work an OC has done at UM in 15 years.

2022 offense was the the worst offense UM has had since 2006, and Dawson made LEAPS year 1.
