Our Glorious Athletic Director

I do agree that our athletic department leaves a **** ton to be desired but I didn't look at that as all negative. It's not like he said he wouldn't entertain the idea because we are happy at no life. Now if there was more to the conversation than what I just read I take it back.

Put down the crack pipe.

The guy also talked about how fans loved playing FAMU and that the series with FIU was great for UM.

He's a pile of crap as a leader of our athletic department. A TOTAL PILE OF CRAP.

The FIU series is great for UM. It's one of the few games on our schedule that might actually fill the stadium and have a legit college football atmosphere. I rather play FIU than Arkansas State or some other low level school. You're trippin' about everything...

Only a moron thinks that series is good for UM.

It does NOTHING for Miami football.

NOTHING

It doesn't help with recruiting, it doesn't help us nationally and it provides a local school the opportunity to beat us locally.

Honestly our fanbase is ridiculous.

You need help bro..

No logical response?

Thought so.

Worst athletic department in the country.
Look things are not great but when you make comments like that you lose cred because that's just simply not even remotely fact based.

hate having to defend them on any level but facts have to be part of the conversation. Big generalization there even if it applies to the thing most of us care about the most in football

Hypothetical situation so please stay with me for a moment.

The year is 20XX and we have 8 years left on our current lease at No Life. Stephen Ross decides to move the Dolphins out of South Florida and decides to destroy the stadium and build condos in 8 years from 20XX. What should UM do? Should UM end the football program?

Anyone?

He is part of the problem. He just like AG he is in way over is head.

Anyone who accepts, defends and makes excuses for our massive failings is an enemy of the program. Until this changes we are doomed. Our AD and HC are from Maine and Temple - haven't a clue how to build greatness. No idea. They seem perfectly content to run a "clean" program, win 8 games a year and have good graduation rates.

Case in point the AQM situation. AG has said it is his choice - meaning this is not an NCAA issue. Again I ask do Saban, Urban, Jimbo, etc let one their best defensive players sit while waiting on the student council??? GTFOH. Perfect example how this admin and staff would rather project this upstanding image than do what is necessary to win football games.

Blake James needs to be gone.

.
@OmarKelly: "If someone want to build us a stadium that holds 40,000 people & wants to put it close to our campus we'll definitely be listening," James

@OmarKelly: "If there's a better spot for the Hurricanes I'm all ears and we'll definitely listen," Blake James told @JoeRoseShow on stadium issue.

Can we have a bigger worthless, vision-less piece of garbage running our athletic department?

Shalala is leaving and this clown is 1B right after her.

Purge the trash.

Golden will lose enough games this year to GTFOH.

I already gave you my logical response. The whole playing FIU thing is completely logical. We ALWAYS play an FIU-level team. Every season. We might as well play FIU to get some extra asses in the seats since our attendance is awful. The game will definitely have a better atmosphere than most of the games on our schedule. As a business side effect, which I don't care about but it is a positive, the athletic department won't incur the same costs as it is paying Arkansas State to come here and then us flying to Arkansas State next season (which is ridiculous).

Playing FIU doesn't help with recruiting? Um OK. Neither does playing Arkansas St., FAMU, Cincinnati. etc.

You're worried we're going to lose to FIU? Now THAT'S ridiculous.

Clearly you weren't at the stadium for the brawl.

Nuff said.

Dumb is dumb.

That's our fearless leader showing when it comes to the stadium issue he has no desire, plan or vision to have it resolved. Unreal. Where are our priorities? We are rotting at SLS. That FAMU game was the worst attendance for FAMU I have ever seen. I'm done with this guy.

Really? In Miami Gardens? I'm okay with hypotheticals, but you're worried about something 17 years away. And you honestly think the NFL would want to leave this market? They'd force Ross to sell before they'd move the Fins. Especially with the upgrade of SunLife you have an outdoor facility that is first rate for future Super Bowls.

i'd love to know where you geniuses would put a stadium, even if we had the money for it. tropical park is the only place that solves the distance from campus issue along with having the infrastructure to handle stadium traffic, but you'd have to somehow pry it out of the city's hands first. and before some ****** says the land that we sold by the zoo would have worked, that land is having enough trouble getting a **** walmart put on it because of environmental reasons.

You think it is SunLife Stadium? Dude, go look at what Miami drew for home games in 1997. Paid attendance under 20K against Rutgers for homecoming. Miami is not drawing because it is not putting out a product that corresponds to South Florida. South Florida goes for front runners, period. Even in the OB the paid attendance was around 40 to 45K against pedestrian teams even when Miami was good.

I'm all in for including him on the banner. **** him and that joke attitude too.

I wish USC was closer, could go see their games.

Wow

Dumbest fans in America. Why wouldUniversity start a capital campaign for a stadium it's going to be filled 6 to 7 times a year only with no other entertainment value around it? Best option is to partner up with a donor that will use the stadium venue for other entertainment Avenues

The Dolphins aren't leaving Miami. The NFL wants that market.

LOL. You guys are missing the point as usual. Unless someone else will magicaly build us a stadium (the city, the county, Beckham - and before you go there, they aren't interested in building 40k+) which we know isn't happening, there is no money, nor will there ever be money for it, just like there was no money to renovate the crumbling OB. Our fans (US) do not financially support the program, our ticket sales, even when we are producing the best CFB team of all time, are not enough, we do not get state funds, period.

There is a $200M elephant in the room you guys are callously ignoring, to no one's surprise. UM Football received its first $5M+ gift EVER last year from the Schwartz family, and Donna had to go WAY outside the family, outside the UM community to raise that (a miracle). Yet you guys want us to have our own stadium? $200M?

Laff.

But keep ranting, maybe you will successfully scare off a recruit or two.

If he was involved with scheduling Louisville for a season opener, he is a fail.

Can't we get a warm up game? The NFL has 4 preseason games.

I know right.

I can't believe that people think a football stadium only needs to be used 6-7 times per year.
