I think he has a strong arm. I've seen him drive the ball and make opposite hash throws without issue.

IMO, his arm will get even better as he gets stronger and more fundamentally sound. Right now it's a lot of grip-it-and-rip-it. He relies on big hands and a twitchy arm. He's been on a steep upward trajectory since high school and he's only a true sophomore. South Florida QBs tend to make strides in college because they come in underdeveloped.

Same bowl game last year was the announcers hyping the Gators and Lagway.

College football announcers as a rule are overly positive/deferential to whatever team they are covering because it’s in their interest to be for future access.
 
There's not a single QB going into the portal in 2026 that isore polished or as accurate throwing intermediate routes as CJ Bailey. Pat Mahomes 2 is about even.

He has thrown too many interceptions. That's really all he needs to improve to become a high draft pick.

If he were a highschool 5* QB instead of the 3* who you saw throw to jojo and Jeremiah Smith you'd be jizzing yourself now. He's way better than any of us thought.

There is quite literally nothing Bailey is better at than Mestemaker, and I don't think I'm being sarcastic one bit. ONLY thing he has on him is experience.

Yep. People on here went nuts when I first brought up Beck. Now we're in the playoffs and he finished Top 10 in passer rating.

It's very unlikely we find another Cam, and every prospect will have flaws. But the Portal has given us access to some really good QBs who can win a lot of games for us.

i'll say it again, some on this board learned nothing from the mendoza situation ... you give cj bailey an oline, running game, toney, and a defense and he's a different player ... ala mendoza

If Bailey wasn’t from South Florida, less people would feel salty. “Cast a wide net” “if he wast from South Florida, we wouldn’t want him”.

There isn’t a perfect prospect out there this year. Last year it was Mateer. Yes he was injured but he has not been impressive this year.
