Our coaches don't play our best players (and other coaching miscues)

Some valid points but you lost me here.

Miami lost Jaquan Johnson, Michael Jackson, Sheldrick Redwine, Gerald Willis, Demetrius Jackson, Tito Odenigbo (needed for depth) and Joe Jackson—and you're wondering why there was a drop-off from last season production-wise?

This program is NOWHERE near being able to 'reload'—and the loss of your best defensive linemen and 3/4 of your secondary is going to be a massive blow when the two-deep is nowhere near where it needs to be—and Miami is still relying on grad transfers like Hill to help with depth and experience?

Precisely. It was a very good OP other than the defensive drop off could not have been less predictable, for the reasons you mentioned. I forecast that it would be at least a half yard per play.

Our defensive numbers are actually better than they have a right to be. We faced a non offensive team in Bethune Cookman, a backup quarterback in Central Michigan, a true freshman quarterback in North Carolina, and a raw new starter mostly runner quarterback in Virginia Tech.

I cringe to think how a top notch offense would fare against us

It’s insane. Even if he did get a first down. That was a crucial down to gamble on a walk-on.

They also played some scrub fullback who caught a 1 yard pass in the flat

and how the **** does any of that have anything to do with Lingard? If anything Burns should be ****ed b/c that short yardage could have been his.

But what really kills me is that when we were down 21 points with a quarter to play, we spent 5 minutes and 40 seconds on a drive. That is completely unacceptable, how the **** did we not have a 2 minute drill? If that drive is even one minute shorter we'd have a much better chance of winning the game at the end, when we ran out of time at the 10 yard line. VT was actually running drives with more urgency up 14 in the 4th quarter than we were while down 14! It's outrageous and there literally was not a single team I've seen all year that repeatedly does crap like this.

Exactly. It was driving me crazy in the stands. I was ranting about it before every snap. I mentioned this in a thread here last night.

Somehow the Canes players and coaches didn't understand the situational realities. College games are hardly decided with 12 minutes remaining, especially while playing at home as 14 point favorite and with all 3 time outs available against a limited offense. It was like the players were rationalizing that we have only scored 14 points and we are down 21 points, so why bother to hurry up?

Incredible stupidity. Maybe it's because I've bet so many games and used to watch a dozen games at a time on the sportsbook monitors, but you never assume normalcy in college football. So many possessions and stoppages of the clock. Games change wildly all the time. Virginia Tech with the limited offense was almost certain to be extremely cautious in the next possession, if you cut it to 14. That is almost a free stop. Your crowd will now be restored and electric. But just give the **** thing a fleck of a chance by recognizing the opportunity and hurrying up.

As I mentioned here last night, during that drive the clock would be running yet we're still in the huddle. Time after time we were snapping the ball at 11 or 12 on the play clock. At least twice there were offensive penalties and the game clock would resume at the official's gesture, yet we're seemingly unaware of that and standing around as the seconds tick away.

The only hesitation I didn't mind was when it reached 4th and 4, or something like that. If you miss that play then the game is over and the crowd is filing out en masse. We took our time and hit Osborn on an out pass to keep the drive and the game alive. Then I think the touchdown happened on the next play.

LOL at calling me the idiot after your idiotic post on top of misusing 5th grade grammar.
Thank you Rebecca. Yet I have probably banged the chics you jerk off to, and having a much better life than you are.
