Our "Ace" Recruiter

An ace recruiter is the best recruiter on your staff. There isn't a participation trophy. One of your coaches is better at recruiting than the rest.

Who was the one coach everyone thought could have been retained on the previous staff? Hartley, bc he can recruit. He's already doing it at UG. Would u rather send Hartley or Coach Kool out on the recruiting trail?

Coaches usually specialize in recruiting or developing. Rarely do u find a coach who is elite at both. Coach Kool was more of a developer. Coach Dugans was more of a recruiter. I'm sure u can guess which one Coach Stubblefield is better at, which is a smart move by Manny bc our WR room needed to be developed more.
I don’t disagree with your assessment at all. My point is simply that even being the best recruiter on a staff does not make one a good recruiter as there are so many things that influence a young man’s decision other than the quality of the recruiting. The reality is that every recruiter is better at any school which gives a kid what he wants; money, proximity to home, class size, General discipline or lack thereof (players talk about this).
One of my best friend’s sons left Atlanta (and UGA and Tech) to play ay Notre Dame. UGA and Bama offered money, UGA set him up with a girl, and every school offered more than Notre Dame. But Notre Dame offered things the other schools could not; prestige as an academic institution and an alumni base of people in Fortune 500 companies.
So did Notre Dame do a better job of recruiting him or did that school simply have things which were more important to him and his family? Was it because of a recruiter or a school? Well it wasn’t because of recruiting. He couldn’t even tell you the name of his lead recruiter at any school because he didn’t care. But the school won.

There is no such thing as an “ace” recruiter. Like any salesperson, a recruiter is better if he/she has something good to sell. Therefore, things like team success, school quality, school location, proximity to home, and ultimately payoffs are the key. Sure some people put in more time and effort and that makes them better than a lazy competitor, but there are so many factors outside of an individual’s control that are far more impactful than the recruiter’s tenacity or personality.
I dunno. Charisma is a helluva drug.

It says Field was at Traz Powell today to see MNW and especially Fleming. He's going to be a lock. Field was probably one of the most important hires this off season along with Enos.

Hey, what can I say, I'm on a roll. That's The U Equipment Room, Ahmmon, and Field all in one week.

But no seriously, I hope he's just being humble about the ace recruiter thing. I'm banking on him being better than Hartley.
The point is invalid. Hartley recruited and retained Feagles.

Hartley I believe was overrated...had some big swing and misses...

perhaps too critical?

Is @D RevLee still alive? I'd be a complete jagmo to him but I'm not that guy anymore. I'll only trash coaches like Patke, Baker, Rumph, and Manny until they show me otherwise.

Everyone know on CIS the difference between elite and terrible fluctuates on a daily basis by which kid commits where.

“Banda needs to go toda....yes we got Avaente!!! EB is my boy!”
