OTH Podcast: DJ and Romberg calling out our leaders

It's tough for kids to pass up prime cinematographic opportunities on spring break. What's your feed going to look like staying in town working?

If they want to be the Canes of glory then they have to be those Canes. If the new Miami doesn’t put work above alll and out work everyone else like those old Canes did then all this TNM stuff is just bs and we are in the same place we have been. We won all those late games against noles because our players worked harder all year and had some left in the final minutes. I try to never critize players. It is they decision. If they want to be The U or Suntan U.

Exactly.

There are certain things you can't control....like number of practices allowed in a day, etc.

One thing for certain that will never change, outworking everyone when nobody is looking will ALWAYS pay off.

No one is saying they can’t comment on anything, it’s the fact that as someone said early, they want these guys to be football robots and people forget they are student athletes. They can have fun. I’m sure if you documented one of the Romberg/dj spring breaks I’m sure they had fun as well. You should be able to enjoy yourself
Yeah they had fun....but those teams practiced AND watched film like Madmen....

They were successful because they had better players. Lol at they worked harder than everyone else.

Newsflash, most high level D1 schools work hard.
Lol at they worked harder??....Guess what??...Not only did they work harder...they worked ALOT harder....practices from 98-2003 made todays practices look like Kindergarten school....

Again, it wasn't about the "school" with some of the older Canes.....that is just fact. The "school" can only require so much out of even the most prized scholarship athlete. If you believe guys like Ed Reed didn't put in TONS of their own NOT REQUIRED or even expected blood sweat and tears...can't help ya there.

Yup. Canes worked hard last year, they were tough last year, and they were fast last year when we won 7 games cuz Richt called 30 dives. But why wait until we're at the ACC championship to try and out work Clemson who we cant beat off just talent? Why not do it in March? Why are we defending 7-6 and shunning comments from a Championship team saying they are taking it too far? Lol

So you're aware of how every other college football teams work habbits from 1998-2003? I'm aware you personally know every Miami Hurricane player to ever suit up (especially the great players) but now you're claiming to know how hard every other school practiced?

:monkey-serious:

Nowhere did I say anything about any other school.

So that 1 extra week of practice will put them over the top???? Gotcha

They are 100% right. The culture here sucks.

Those teams from 98-03 were full of guys who wanted to work.

You think Dan Morgan and Ed Reed were out partying during spring break?

Don Soldinger:

“A lot of the work ethic and the values that these guys here tonight - Greg, Bennie - had is not there now,” Soldinger said. “It’s entitlement. It’s where’s the easiest place to go, where are they going to take care of me, what are they going to give me. Kids need to go to work and stop with ‘me, me, texting, taking pictures [on their phones].’”
Love the Coach Soldinger quote (y)

No one is saying anything about how hard they practiced. Everyone knows and understand what they have done. It’s the fact that their comment about not leaving Miami etc during spring break and it’s a great novelty and sounds good especially to some of you nostalgic fans who eat that sh*t up But I find It hard to believe they didn’t enjoy theirselves on their break. No one should feel guilty about doing anything they want on their time off whether that means vacation or visiting family through the break which I’m sure some on the roster did
