Yes but the comparison I responded to was re hester, who didn’t play for a zillion years and isn’t top 10 all time in points scored. Gore will get in because longevity. It happens.

I agree. I was just referencing stenerud’s top 10 scoring number. He played forever - like Morton Andersen and George Blanda - and compiled all those points. Hester was flat out the best ever at what he did. He should get in for that. Gale Sayers got in with a short career. Is Bo Jackson in? Hester goes more along the Bo Jackson model.

They all belong in there.
The tie breaker for Hester is his Super Bowl moment. Taking the opening kickoff back in the '06 SB solidified his place in my opinion. That was his HOF play.

Bo isn’t in. Neither is Sterling Sharpe. And there are no specialists in other than Ray Guy, iirc.

Wayne gets in 2022. Dre, Hester will get in soon. Wilfork maybe. IMO he should. Dominant NT on NFL Dynasty.

After those 4 it's almost a wrap for us. Gore gets in. Maybe Calais. He needs 10 to 15 more sacks and maybe a ring or another PB. Maybe Graham. He needs probably 2k more yards and 20 TDs. Hopefully Chuck Foreman gets in one day.

Donald played 3T and 5T like Geno. Vince played 0 tech NT. He had different responsibilities than those two.

Similar to a Cane great from another era—Rubin Carter. Spent about ten years in the NFL as a NT. Had about twenty sacks over that period. NT’s sacrifice for the defense, take a lot of punishment but don’t get the glory the other DLs can get. He played on the great Orange Crush defense of the 1970’s. Not saying he deserves to be in the HOF but NTs are not in a position to attract the kind of attention say his teammate, Lyle Alzado, did.
