(OT)... What schools produce the worst NFL talent other than ohio st. At the QB position??? (It can be any postion besides QB)

Haskins is weird. The quotes he's had to the media this year reek of a defeated, unconfident human being that shouldn't be playing QB in the NFL. Jamarcus Russell, Vince Young mentality at the end of their ropes in the league type attitude.

He's sub EJ Manuel as a league QB. He's pretty bad. When you get punted this early into your career as a high draft pick at QB, you ******* stink and are likely toxic.

Isn't this a greater failure than having a great college QB who is a bust as a pro?
You can see it that way... But that's not what my post is about. It's about the schools that send the MOST talent to the pros (at any position of your choice) and they don't live up to their expectations (draft spot/hype). I don't see how we would fit into that. Our "lack of" players being drafted is a totally different story.

They’re still on the run. Jets have no faith in Darnold. You can somewhat lump Daniels in as a USC guy, and Slovis probably won’t pan out either.
Sam Darnold is sub-Minshew on the scale of NFL QB play. He stinks.

Haven't seen them mentioned, but Georgia has had a pretty stinky run of NFL QBs, too. Stafford is some Carson Palmer level mid, so if we're trashing USC QBs, Georgia should be mentioned, too. Fromm, Murray, Greene, Shockley, Quincy Carter. JT Daniels is a nice USC-Georgia guy? Good luck.

I can get behind all of them except Stafford. He’s played for awful teams and thrown for a billion yards. I would’ve liked to see him play for a real contender

As much as we all rightfully despise all things Ohio State, Washington Football Team hasn't really hit on a 1st round QB since Sammy Baugh.

Then why post a pic of a QB from OSU? None of their QBs were expected to be world beaters in the pros. Even the prognostications on Haskins were a mixed bag, IIRC. Haskins to me always seemed like a Brad Kaaya with a bigger arm.

... BYU & Cal have a better track record of putting good QB’s in the NFL than Oh St...
You touch on a strong point here that highlights the difficulty of recruiting talent away from high performing organizations like drafting Haskins from a winning OSU program.

In those outfits, above average talent is seemingly in abundance and while great, it hides a dark secret: individuals who are B's or even A- types but appear to be A+ . This occurs because the rest of the organization and talent around them mask their deficiencies--almost everbody appears to be an A+ and most of them even believe their own hype. Now along comes a subpar organization who recruits said individual away, and then they are unpleasantly surprised when Mr/Ms Superstar fizzles painfully (and expensively) into disappointment because they can only thrive with other "top" talent around them. Football is one of the ultimate team sports!

Now, take a BYU/Cal/El Rancho Cucamunga St superstar player. That star burns brightly for two reasons: 1) they are exceptional and 2) they don't have the supporting cast (like the "premier" programs) to mask deficiences so they have to be #1 just from a survival aspect.

Could you imagine Haskins being drafted as QB1 from those programs? Me either because he would have fallen into the void of obscurity without the bright lights OSU provided.

Dwayne unfortunately just joined the long line of examples from the sports world. In business (and military) there are the same. A name you all might know is Rob Nardelli of GE-Home Depot infamy--text book example that is actually taught at top business schools of "don't be this guy".

When you conpare this against what the late 90s-early oughts era Canes did in NFL, its all the more remarkable that a good portion of them had decent-solid careers, let alone the HOFrs.

Dude.... Was Haskins not drafted in the first rd?? YOU projected him well and knew he wasn't good. That's cool. But it doesn't take away the fact he got drafted high.

And if you read the title. I'm clearly stating that osu has to be the top school at sending QBs to the league that end up sucking...sheesh.

I think he hurt his own stock the way he played against Indiana and Northwestern and especially if he struggles against Clemson.

He'll probably get a pass because of his 2019 output and the environment of 2020 with how the Big10 handled their season and how it could have changed his preparation.

I wouldn't draft him top 10. He's the number 3 or 4 QB in this draft in my opinion.
Justin Fields is going to get devoured in the NFL. Even last year I could tell. If the ball doesn't immediately get out of his hand because his first read is open you know he's in trouble. His decision making and accuracy go out the window.

Sounds identical to Haskins lol.

That's been the knock on every single QB that came from Urban, Dan Mullen, and now Ryan Day systems. Dak being sort of an outlier (he has his flaws). Alex Smith was the same way early in his career but he eventually got settled in and was solid. He was always too quick to try to run or roll out and throw it away. All good athletes and they put up college numbers, test well, and then fall back to earth in the NFL
