You're not using words properly.
First, nobody has to be "convicted" to be "PROVEN" to be guilty. People do things all the time, people are viewed as having done things all the time, without actually having a criminal trial and an adjudication of guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Yes, if FOR ANY REASON (including jury nullification) Cooper is found not guilty in a criminal court, then he will not do jail time. That doesn't mean he didn't do it.
I'm not going to be on his jury. I am entitled to come to my own conclusion about whether I believe that Cooper did this crime. I am still open-minded though, and if there is any EXCULPATORY evidence which proves that Cooper DID NOT do the crime, then I will take that into consideration.
But I don't have to wait until 12 people take a vote to come to my own thoughts on the matter. And how those 12 people vote is NOT the only determinant on whether Cooper did this crime or not.
OJ killed Nicole and Ron. But I understand how the criminal justice and legal systems work.
