It's comical that people think reporting the situation the kid got himself into is somehow "tearing him down", like if it doesn't get reported by a T&F website it will all go away. He made a mistake, and part of that is taking your medicine.

Uhmm, no, he was NOT going to be the next great American sprinter - his coach/advisors saw to that when they ran him in nearly 80 races last year. No surprise to anyone in track and field that he’s been injured. ****-near child abuse.

And the reflexive comments “in defense” of Cooper are mind boggling and misguided. Cooper has to take responsibility for his actions.

I read the comments at the end and it's crazy that ppl think that website is wrong for posting about what the kid did.. Some ppl talking about him not being able to run, like IF that's more important!! Some ppl just don't understand life, and WE WONDER WHY THESE SOFLA RECRUITS ARE SUCH DIVAS... Too much ppl overlook serious situations til it's to late!! I also read one where the person said it's the parents/guardians fault, HOW?? His coach took him in and then he started disrespecting him...

I pray this kid can learn from this and be a better man moving forward..

What an effing moron. His trajectory on the track had sort of plateaued and judging by this recent dumb decision, he probably got caught up in the hype rather than grinding to improve. People were talking about his unlimited potential just a few years ago. Sounds like he might have just thrown it all away.
