OT: Strong out at Texas

He'd break the record for wins by a coach if he could have coached against F A G every game.

They were "back" 3 weeks ago from that 1 game sample size. Must be the expectations.. richest school in the country wanting to win, crazy.

The SI article says he's expected to be out at the end of the year not that he'll be out for sure. But if he does get fired (which is about a 90 percent certainty at this point) it won't be until after the season.

If you actually read Mandel's SI article it's pretty clear that the yahoo sports writer is taking what Mandel wrote out of context. Mandel is basically saying Strong will only survive if there's a big turnaround to the season.

i bet they already got the deal made with Herman.

Herman probably told them he wanted to finish the season with Houston, and UT probably told Skrong outright what the deal was.

I don't see Herman leaving Houston.

Why would he?

Certainly not for the $. Dude makes 4 mil with no pressure.

I can see Texas going all in for Chip Kelly.

When does the Big 12 make a decision on who they bring into the conference?

Why announce this? If you're gonna do it at the end of the season then do it now

The firing has not actually been announced or decided yet. Mandel just wrote that Strong is very unlikely to return. A yahoo writer exaggerated to say Strong is 100% fired.

herman to UT feels like a lock.. they can pay more than houston can, and there's never going to be any concern of getting into the CFP if his team goes undefeated.

He's been a horrific failure at UT. Ran off all the vets, scapegoated assistants. Is a defensive specialist who can't slow anyone down. Abysmal failure.

Herman ain't leaving Houston.

Texas is a career killer job right now. Too much pressure.

Herman makes $4 million. Not worth the extra $1-$2 million.
