He took his own life last night at his home in the South Miami-Dade area.

Played at Killian and Southridge in HS, then played at Tennessee from 2017-2020 before finishing his last year at UM in 2021. He played with the Dolphins in the preseason in 2022, then he attended rookie minicamp with Green Bay in 2024.

He was a bright young man with so much potential and his death affects so many people that loved him and cared for him. He will be missed.

Mental health has never been more of an issue… especially with the youth. God be with his family. I wish he could’ve gotten the help he needed. RIP 🙏🏼
Condolences to the young mans family. May he RIP.

Disclaimer: Not saying this is this situation. Couple things want to touch on this is alot of these guys literally put their all including time and energy into being the best they can be and get to league. Even fans on here condemn/scold players if they take a interest in anything else other than football (Chad Thomas being an example) that when their journey ends most likely before they are ready (even happens to players with long decorative careers) they have identity crisis, everything stops, high divorce rate, etc.

There have been more players speaking on this and dont want to make assumption this is what happened here either but is something that has come up with some young guys I know when they are finished with cfb.

Another thing is the issues with transfer portal when you leave a college you have been at for years and maybe play a season somewhere else and its really only a single semester. Have you planted enough roots to be able to have a support system? Very difficult and overlooked question in thenew transfer portal era.

This is sad to read about the young man.

Mental illness is a terrible thing to behold it’s suffering beyond reason, the cry for help is a silent one unanswered you stare into darkness till you just can’t take it anymore knowing your sick and can’t communicate it to others how ill you really are.

The good Lord has a special place in his Kingdom free of constant anguish for mental illness suffering Souls.

My stepfather died of Bipolar drug toxicity over his lifetime.

Have Mercy on his Soul

Tragic.

Often a permamnent solution to temporary situation.

Just awful.

Please tell me this isnt true!

This one hurts. Deandre Johnson survived a tragic attempt on his life by a mentally ill and unstable classmate when he was in high school. He went on to get his degree, a brief nfl stint, and even started teaching elementary school. I had a niece that took a class from him. He left his teaching job a couple of years ago, and I was tempted to try to reach out to him.

Mental illness is no joke. This reminds me that I have to take signs of mental health struggles seriously when I see it. I don’t know all the details, but this definitely puts thingsc in perspective for me

Rest in Power🙏❗
