One great memory I have listening to his voice while watching a canes game.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps straight out of high school too. Always appreciated that he at least came off as a fan and proponent of ALL of college football and didn't overtly spew conference or regional propaganda.

He seemed to have a little chip against the Canes later in life, but he was so awesome and always kept it professional. His call about the Barrow/Vanouver hit is one of the all time great color comments on a CFB game. "Michael Barrow, separated him from his senses!"

The worst part about being at the game was missing his commentary. Needless to say, I recorded it and watched it a few times. ;o)
