OT: Popeyes

I gave it a 6.8, solid sammich. The bread was best thing about it , the meat tasted just like their filet but was just bigger , put on the bread and called a sammich.

Chik fila is absolute greatness, league of its own.

Would I get the Popeyes sammich again ? Yeah, it’s worth that much , but I’d drive ten miles passed it to get da goat cf.

Have u had them side by side, though?

No , but Popeyes is definitely a lot bigger.

I just think their chicken as a whole is super overrated. It’s ok fried chicken but for the price it’s quite meh. Never got the hype.

I’d rather have Publix fried chicken, there’s also a mom/pops place out my way called“ fryers “, it’s the by far the best around my area.

One thing's for sure, regardless of how good that sandwich actually is, this is one of the greatest marketing campaigns of all time. It's mind blowing that so many in our country would be talking about a sandwich from a fast food grease pit.

Brother, why don’t you become an entrepreneur and open a Popeyes around campus, since I live 3 miles from there. Now I have to travel a good ways to get to one. And make sure you make that gumbo.if you need a manager PM me.

Was down in Florida last week. Had to stop in Publix to get a few things and one of those boxes of fried chicken found their way into my cart. Gotta come clean..it was pretty **** good. Popeye's is still the reigning champ when it comes to good old fashioned bone in bucket of fried chicken. Im a thigh man, so a few times a year I'll go in and order a bucket of thighs.

While I have all of you grease eating hogs in on a thread, does anyone know the Detroit area well? I'm headed there next weekend to catch a Tigers/Lions combo and check off 2 stadiums I havent been too. Going to https://primeandproperdetroit.com/ for a steak but Im looking for advice for a local dive the locals would swear by that can tickle my taste buds.

LOL, and we could take our "coffee breaks" at your house.

Funny thing about popeyes franchises they require you have experience in owning other fast food locations before they even let you buy one lol. I rememeber that though, there wasn't any close to campus.

Publix fried chicken is solid, no doubt about it. Their fried chicken tenders are better than their fried pieces, imo. They also make a good sub with those.

Anyone remember the Bojangles in Hialeah?

Also, without debating the excellence of Chik-fil-A but just portion size- how does a grown man actually eat there to the point of feeling full and not spend the same amount of money as you would if you just sat down at a place like Friday's or Applebee's or if you magically found a Bennigan's and wanted to exit this planet with a Monte Cristo fueled heart attack?

The sandwich won't be back for a few months. If you're a fan of the Popeye's chicken recipe, you'll love the sandwich. If you're "eh" about Popeyes, you probably won't see what the big deal is. I personally am a huge fan of Popeyes so the sandwich tasted amazing to me, not worth waiting 30-45 minutes in line, tho.

i usually go when they first open no lines no waiting lol first in. first out. they still have chicken sandwiches here where I'm at..

I used to eat at that Bojangles on W49th St. all the time when I worked in Hialeah by the river and 57Ave. There and at Victoria Station on 36st. by the airport. Also there was a great Mexican restaurant by Victoria Station... what was the name?
