No that is called sweeping a problem under the rug to hide the root cause rather than addressing the problem behind it.
1) How are you going to make it impossible for a HS student to obtain a gun?
Well it's been shown that other countries have violent crime issues, just not necessarily gun related so it
No, that is called sweeping a problem under the rug without actually addressing the root cause of it. It's amazing we've had guns in this country for years but this mass shooting phenomenon has only really manifested the last 20 years or so.
Lets dissect this:
In Florida you need to be 18 to buy a weapon, this kid was already 19 (generally he'd be aged out of high school). What law would you put on the books to prevent him from buying a gun? He's a legal adult, high schoolers already can't legally own guns here unless they are of age.
Lets say you ban guns in totality. How does that address why this kid wanted to do what he did? What's stopping him from sitting in the school parking lot and running down kids with his car? Or creating a bomb? Or **** poisoning the drinking water at the school or a littany of other ****ed up scenarios?
We've banned drugs and alcohol in this country, has that made it impossible to acquire them? We've banned murder, do people not do that anymore?
Nothing you've proposed has done anything to address the actual issues at hand. You just want to sit around and yell and cuss at people without applying a single shred of critical thinking to anything on here. Grow the **** up.
How about raising the age to legally buy a gun to lets say the age you must be to ******* rent a car (25), or buy alcohol (21) at the very least? How about setting up a system similar to how people can even drive and apply that to gun ownership... Is that so crazy? That you need to have a permit to own a gun, that requires you to have taken a gun safety test and to pass backround check/mental fitness test or something. ...It probably is a problem to you because your a right wing gun nut that knows **** well you probably wouldn't be able to pass the tests that could possibly be required to owning a gun.
But your only argument is thats "sweeping it under the rug". That is the stupidest thing you've said yet. no, thats not, thats saving ******* lives you dip****. and just so you fully understand because apparently it needs to be explained to you like a 2 year old, Im not saying to ban guns entirely, and I'm also not saying that JUST by banning guns it will eradicate the ******* problem. I'm saying:
Step 1. Get it out of the hands of people that will do this kind of ****.
Step 2. Fix the problem so people dont want to do this in the first place.
Like **** man, this is what people like you just don't get. At the VERY LEAST taking guns away from people that shouldn't be allowed to have them will reduce the amount of INNOCENT people killed that shouldn't be. This isn't about taking your guns away and getting rid of the 2nd amendment, this is about controlling something thats main ******* purpose it to kill others. Thats what the **** the majority of these guns are for. Most people aren't using god **** hunting rifles to commit mass murder. Cars' main purpose isn't to kill others - its for ******* transportation, theres a reason tanks aren't seen rolling around on the street. Knives main purpose isn't to kill others - its for cutting your ******* steak and theres hunting knives which are for hunting obviously which is perfectly fine. Drugs main purpose isn't to kill others. Guns like a pistol or an AR-15, or Assault Rifles or any military weapon has the primary purpose of KILLING PEOPLE. People aren't going to schools or movie theaters or concerts to commit mass murder with a ******* hunting bow or knife. So at the very least you are saving lives.
This really shouldn't even be something anyone disagrees with. Should a mentally unstable person or someone who isn't even allowed to ******* buy a beer or rent a car in this country be allowed to buy a gun or not? This is a very simple question to ask with only one possible answer - NO.
