OT: Joe Burrow opinion

He's the real deal. I told my friends after the Texas game I thought he'd be the #1 pick. I love the way he's aggressive challenging 1 on 1 coverage downfield. He has the ideal demeanor and he manages the pocket very naturally. A lot of QBs are robotic in their movements and processing and it works when everything is on schedule but those guys tend to flounder when things change post-snap. Burrow is very intuitive and seems to have an answer for everything.

Give him a couple of ballwinners (like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin - I can dream) like he has now, throw in some RPOs and he will be tough to stop at the next level.

To all the people discrediting Burrow and saying it's all about the scheme - please describe to me what about this scheme is so unstoppable and hard to replicate? I'll give you a hint...it starts with a p and ends with an l.
Probably thought the same as Winston assuming you’re a Bucs fan..you think he’s a better prospect then Jameis was?

He's definitely a better prospect than Jameis. He's much much better with his deep ball accuracy and makes far fewer boneheaded plays. I actually think Jameis has been playing well since the Cincy game last year but Burrow would be an upgrade and save money against the cap. Not gonna happen though.

I was lower than most on Jameis before the draft. I preferred Mariota because I felt his skillset would be easier to scheme around a winning formula. That proved true for a while but injuries and poor scheme fits have doomed him lately and Jameis is progressing.

I’m of the mindset he’s been a product of the system at LSU. And by system I mean everything surrounding him, not just scheme. This is the most impressive group of WR I’ve seen in CFB. But of course the QB will get the shine. And I’m not saying he’s not good. I just wouldn’t take him 1st overall over chase Young. Even if I needed a QB. Someone definitely will take him Early tho. Only can’t miss QB prospect i see in CFB right now is Sunshine at Clemson. And he was eligible to come it’s not even a debate he’s goes Number 1

As a Fins fan, I want no part of Tua or Burrow or any other Qb coming out.

Give me Young and those LT studs. Throw a bag at Bridgewater.

Please tell me your kidding about bridgewater. There is 5 guys in the next two years that will be better pros then bridgewater. Young will be a great player but dolphins havnt had a QB in longer then our hurricanes. With 3 first round picks this is the year you throw the dart at a QB.

Another thing about the bridgewater idea, if we get a rookie the QB doesn’t get QB money for 5 years and can spend big money on other positions until then. Dolphins have 5 first round pics in next two years they can build a dominant team for a long time if Grier doesn’t **** up this wet dream of an offseason scenario.

Idk man. Bridgewater's bout to be the hottest Qb on the market. Could have a Brisset or Gatopolo type of impact.

I'm not opposed to taking a Qb, just not one in the Top round.

Dolphins better not fvck this up. Who am I kidding?

Goodell: "With the first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...
...Steven Opella, Placekicker from the University of Nevada."

Freakin' Dolphins.

If you can get Chase Young and Bridgewater that's tempting, but only because I believe you can win with Teddy and the Dolphins' WRs are better suited to his game right now.

IMO Burrow is the system at LSU. He's the one triggering the reads and throws. The play designs of their schemes are nothing special. What makes LSU's offense unique is the execution with Burrow's penchant for big-time throws and their WRs coming down with seemingly every contested catch.

No he won't light up the NFL if he doesn't have WRs who can win against man coverage but if you watch the NFL you know the rules make it very easy to push the ball downfield if you have the talent. I would draft Burrow and then target his guy Jefferson or Collin Johnson so he has at least 1 ballwinner type. Then continue to build with guys like that and some OL, and Burrow should produce like a more athletic version of Carson Palmer.

I totally disagree with the bolded. But u make good points. Can tell you watch ball. But I’m taking my chance with young then hopefully trade up late in the first/ early in the 2nd for Herbert. Ultimately I believe in value over need when it comes to top 5 picks..but hey if u a Gm and u think he’s your guy u take him when u can get him

He looked below average last year. In a better system now. I still like Tua and Herbert more for the pros.

He wasn't doing this last year. Only drafting him if Joe Brady is included. Plus, this is the worst ranked Bama defense in years. I don't like any of the QBs in this year's class.

I’m getting really tired of reading this. Herbert is a better prospect than him and if you take away a those 3 first round WR’s from Tua then he’ll be above average. Guy literally just chucks and ducks with those guys. It’s the same reason they got plastered by Clemson and he was just over 50 % passing today while Burrow surgically picked them to shreds.

chucks and ducks his way to record setting TDs. It’s all the WRs huh... ok

look you don’t like the kid. That’s fine.

you do realize that at the QB position over the last 5 years the data shows that a QBs college production is a huge predictor of NFL success since 99% of QBs drafted will not outperform their college production in the pros at the start of their career. And most never will at any point.

so yes give me the guy with a track record.

i like Joe Burrow as long as you get Joe Brady also. What was Joe burrow last year? Average Joe literally. Same athletes around him but wasn’t doing anything special. He’s got great footwork and good mobility. But I haven’t seen WRs running open on every play like this since Oregon. Props to JB for knowing the system like his does.

IMO, in the NFL it will be :
Herbert >Burrows>Tua

Which means the Dolphins will select Tua.

Herbert is not good. See it throw it guy who struggles when there aren't easy schemed throws in a clean pocket. Adjustment will bw rough for him in the NFL.

That’s exactly how I feel about Tua and burrow loll

How can you even feel that way about Joe Burrow lol? Did you even watch the game?

Yeah Burrow couldn't be more the opposite. Always throwing into tight windows, reading leverage of the DB and attacking man coverage. Herbert likes attacking voids in zone.
