DII athletes mostly get partial scholarships. If P5 and G5 schools cut programs, there will be some pretty good athletes dropping down.

DII schools will struggle to maintain athletic departments. In many cases, these are liberal arts schools as well. Quite a few private. I kid I coached who is at Charleston in WV. He is on full scholarship. His brother played at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls. He was on 3/4 scholarship. DII football is limited to 36 fulls.
