OT: How many of you have/don't have power?

Living in Coconut Grove. Never lost power but across the street and many blocks in the neighborhood still don't have power. Internet came back last night. No hot water but I'm going to fix that myself.

Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay and the Falls still have lots of homes without power. FPL needs to invest in changing their systems in those areas and put **** underground. Too many poles with trees all around them to damage lines. No **** this happens during bad storms. I have my parents and lots of friends without power.

Clewiston, lost power for about 30 hours but lost T mobile phone and data for 4 days, every other carrier worked. Also lost Comcast internet that just came on today. Got to give it to Dish Network, it stayed on until the power went off and came back on as soon as the power did.

I'm in the southwest section about six miles west of campus and never lost power. Cable was restored on Thursday afternoon.

It was weird returning from Orlando late Tuesday night because I knew I still had power and assumed that applied to the neighborhood in general. Not close. The homes immediately across the street were dark and did not have power restored until Friday afternoon.

There are power trucks within a mile of my home in several directions working to restore power today. I was amazed how many I saw while running errands today.

Miller Road and 92nd Avenue is a busy intersection and still does not have power restored. The street light doesn't work so they have makeshift stop signs. That's not going to be fun tomorrow if power is still out because there are nearby schools in every direction.

I'm in Clearwater. Lost power Sunday night but back on Friday evening. My next door neighbor had a power pole go down so they had to prioritize and we got lucky. I have an elderly friend who lives in a senior mobile home park in Seminole in Pinellas county. Duke Power rep was out yesterday afternoon to tell everyone that all their transformers had gone to Texas and it would be about 11 days until they got some more. That's a long time. Perhaps the close timeline of the 2 storms affected inventory of critical parts and that's why it's taking so long in South Florida.

You are not the least bit interesting or clever but you are obsessed. I suppose that is worth something.

I have to laugh at anyone who believes a negative vote means anything at all. You follow me around and apparently negatively rate every post. As if it means anything to me. That's the hilarious aspect. I am not a SAM. Therefore your flailing SAM tactics do not attach. You could have the power to dish out 1000 negative votes for every post I make and all it would do is further certify yourself as a weak minded simpleton.

You apparently had many years of undeserved relevance on Canes sites. Then I showed up and effortlessly dismantled all of your loud conventional wisdom blather. That's the way the world works. You got hurt and can't let go.

There are different and distinct levels of ability among human beings. I am sorry about that. You should have been warned before you waded too deep.

Im in Immokalee and parts of town have power but my side is still out.

Dad lives in Lehigh Acres, which is next to where you're at.
He still has no power and says it's a mess in his area.
I'm having a hard time reaching him by phone too.
Mailing a bunch of D batteries to him too....lol.

I'm in Ft. Myers without power. There are areas with power. My family is in key largo and have power.

Grew up in Boca (I remember what the tornadoes did to Miami during Andrew). Live in WA state now. I still can't believe there are @ss clowns who are gripping about game(s) canceled/rescheduled. It seems outrageous to sit comfortably somewhere away from the storm and speculate on having to predict how tough it will be for families of players and coaches to weather the storm AND travel back to find homes without power/damaged/etc. Family and friends in Jacksonville had homes totaled due to flooding. You just can't predict where and how awful a storm of that size will be.

East Gables near Coconut Grove. Still no power. Saw 2 utility trucks at end of the block two days ago. They drove up a little, driver shook his head, both trucks backed up. Haven't seen them since.
